What products are just designed to break, so you buy just another (new) one ?...

there must be shitloads of stuff that could be made to last better than they are are now.

A common one for me is the AC cord for a laptop... costs about $100 if you buy it retail at Radioshack, maybe $20 on ebay. The cost has to be mainly the transformer, they could use reinforcements where it plugs into the computer and/or strong heavy gauge wire between transformer and laptop.

another one :

collars for pets like a cat: they now have an elastic loop thing designed to stretch, allowing the cat or whatever critter to escape the collar if they get hooked.

that could be made a bit stronger, to last better. Collar breaks... I buy elastic cord for $1 (yards of it,needing only a Skinsraj28 penis length worth ! ) to fix it, instead of a new collar for $8 or so.

So what crap is just made shoddy on purpose, in your opinion ? :missingte

I don't wear shoes ( unless somebody dies) but I can never replace sneakler laces ( usually have to buy them at Walmart) with anything close (in quality)to what came with the sneakers to start with !

Andy-rooney_on_60_minutes.jpg

by the time those replacement sneakerlaces croak ( about two weeks) you need new choes !

Whyizzit they don't give you at least one set of replacement laces with the $150 tennis shoes ?

You can't buy the right laces ever again !

Could it be they want you to buy the shoes again , instead of the laces?

Its never right once the laces wear out !

You need to know about aiglets, or is it aglets ? :think2:

Here's a good one, its a dental flossing tool with replaceable heads, made by Reach

floss.jpg

good idea, but the heads are like 15 cents each, Walmart makes a handheld tool that costs like $2 for 100, and is more complex to manufacture than the head J&J sells.... they give away this tool quite often at store demos (handle and one head) so you buy the replacements at 8X what they should cost... must be a patent so Walmart can't make them, yet.

I am convinced Playstation 3 is already developed before PS2 comes out, etc. That type of thing.

I guarantee Golden Tee 2010 already exists.

It's called "planned obsolescence."

lamps

We should be able to build a light fixture that lasts 100 years+

I'd almost say furniture and tools, but you can buy furniture made by somebody other than Sauder, and good tools that are guaranteed forever. So that's not really fair.

Wiffle Balls.

I can understand disposable in some cases... what's a whiffle ball and bat cost ($4-5 bucks ?).

I have a bigger problem with the laptop cord... that can be made more durable.

Sneaker lace replacements bug me too, you can never get replacements as good as the originals....NEVER ! In fact you often have to comprimise and cut an aglet, shorten the ace, and use scotch tape to ****** rig an aglet.
