Pittsburgh - 110 pick over St. Louis 2 units
(I'm 15-8 for the season if anybody wants to know)
What we have here are two pitchers on both sides of the spectrum.
I love what Ian Snell has been doing this season.
He's 4-2 with a stellar 2.76 ERA and an outstanding 1.21 ratio
Cooled down some in May after an amazing April, but still has won his last three starts.
Pujols is the only batter that hits him, and the Cards bats really don't scare me.
Overall the Cards bat .262 off of Snell.
Conversely the Cards trot out what might be the worst rotation starter in the NL in Kip Wells.
Wells is 1-8 with a horrible 6.75 ERA and a God awful 1.52 ratio.
Think about it 1.52 is almost 14 base runners per game.
Over the past 3 seasons, I have used the Pirates no more than 10 times, because their lineup is soft, but I love them in this spot today.
Give me the Bucs 2 units
Also:
Over 9.5 runs Was/Cin 2 unit
Has anybody else noticed the pitching match up this evening in Cincinnatti?
Simontachi v. Lohse.
That's ugly.
Simontacchi has made three strarts, 17 innings, gave up 22 hits walked 4 which translates into a brutal 1.50 ratio and own an ERA of 5.19
The Red legs are .333 against him and reach base to the tune of .400.
Lohse on the other hand is not that better.
Currently he's 1-5 with a 4.75 ERA and an awful 1.49 ratio.
If things play out as expected, there will be at least 26 base runners this game, and I'm looking at 7-5 type of result here.
Over 9.5 - 2 units.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
And as per usual, good luck to all.
