I cant believe one of the questions that was asked on sports center just now.

The first question was which draft was better? The QB draft of 83, or the so called WR draft the year of Johnson and Harrison.

Then the dumbest question of all.

Maybe the dumbest question in the history of sportcenter.

Did not get who the 2 were.

QUESTION to NFL GUY.

Who was better JOHNSON or HARRISON.

ANSWER:

The NFL guy had to think about it for a few seconds!!!!!

Come on dude!

Thats like asking whos better. Roger Clemens or Jeff Weaver.

I haven't watched much TV today, I don't consider Keyshawn a great player...he had a few great yrs but not even close....did they really compare the QB draft to them?

In his prime, he was the best possesion reciever I have ever seen. He will go down the middle between two defenders and come up with the catch. He is not the wormy type who trys to get wide open and bust a bunch of YAC.

Keyshawn had a solid career over a long period of time. Comparing him to Jeff Weaver is just dumb.

Yes they did. You can watch the re run that they play all night long if you want to see this BS.

I comes on again in about 30 mins or so.

Comparing him to Marvin Harrision is a disgrace.

Will agree on that, but people consider Mushin Muhammed and Eric Moulds out of the same class having solid careers, when Keyshawn had around or better stats.

if you dont think keyshawn johnson was a standout wide receiver both in college and in the league, then you might want to stick to capping baseball. probably one of the most complete receivers of the last decade. his class was loaded with talent at the WR position so there were surely some solid value WRs later on. but the fact remains that he was a stud for a solid decade.

you said it, "solid careers" and all three of them would qualify as that. anyone claiming any of those three are "all time greats" is a fool. I doubt Key would be one of the 10 best receivers during his career.

He will never smell the HOF.

Comparing him to the 2nd best WR in the history of football is disgrace.

BTW, the sportscenter piece that I was talking about is about to re-air in about 15 mins.

comparing johnson to harrison is foolish.
.... but not for the reasons you think.
theyre 2 completely different types of receivers.

take nothing away from harrison. but johnson has some mediocre at best qb's throwing him the ball in his career.

this isnt meant to prop johnson up for canton or to discredit harrison whatsoever. but its crazy to see so many people acting like keyshawn was a run of the mill receiver.

he was a solid receiver, one of the best possession receivers the game has seen, but he isn't an all time great. He had a nice career but nothing spectacular. That draft was loaded though, not all that unreasonable to compare it to the 83 QB draft:

To wit:

Key
Terry Glenn
Kennison
Harrison
MOulds
Owens
Muhammad
Toomer
Horn

While there may only be two guys reach the HOF from the WR class compared with 3 from the QB class, the WR draft was MUCH deeper in productive guys.

I have no problem with Keyshawn being labelled a stud but to compare him to Harrision is laughable - it goes Rice then Harrison - period - same shit as Tim Duncan - he does not have a million tatoos - does not talk shit - shows up all the time - gives 110% - is loved by all his teamates - doesn't hot dog - and gets disprected by the average idiot fan because he is not viewed as hardcore.

Plus there was that incident where he said he wanted to spank Pam Oliver with a ruler, how can you not like that off the field personality.

Did he really? Sounds like good ol Keyshawn to me. I wouldn't mind spanking Pam Oliver with any light object...
