Wouldnt it pay to sart a sportsbook with say 1 million...post odds of say 109 or so or just a bit less than most books and lay EVERYTHING off at Pinny @ 105 and just work on the profit..however small it may be.....fast payouts etc etc

I am sure quite a few sportsbooks out there lay lots of action off to Pinny.

The problem is often times you can't lay off profitably at Pinny because its line already moved against you, from -105 to -115 for example.

No, you don't accept the wager until you make the play at pinnacle.

Then players will be bitching that they can never get the posted price or # and quuestioning the delay in accepting the bet, enough books do this now.

If the money is actually in Pinnacle, what's it matter what they put down? They want to put down 10K at -109, you make the play at Pinny (or you don't), and relay the results back.

A bot could do this in a few seconds. The user would never know the difference.

I suppose this could work if you worked out a way for your server or whatever to recognize the current line for a specific bet at Pinny and then automatically update your line plus whatever amount of juice you add to the top. It could work, but small profit margins unless you are taking some BIG action, in my opinion.

Yeah, you'd be getting Pinnacle level profits (without the volume). But, what the hell - offer at -110, get pin at -105, you're getting around $2 per $100 bet. 100K of volume translates to $2000 per day. And this could be nothing more than a computer program running on a server that constantly updates numbers based on Pin and makes plays at pinnacle rather than your own system. Pretty cool idea.

Nobody is going to post up with an unknown bookie. So, you will have to give out credit to get business. And then you will have laydowns. The problem with a laydown is that when your bet loses , you have to pay Pinnacle with money that never gets paid and you are screwed.

why lay off the action? Take your -109 lines and make your profit. You would not be able to do it only making 4 cents. You still have operating costs.
