Is this a token of appreciation or deceptive marketing?

I was in my bank yesterday, the bank manager was out in the area where you wait to be waited on observing things, atleast that is how it seemed.

For some reason the two tellers were taking forever to take care of their respective customers, so I waited , finally my turn, afgter about a good 8 minute wait, seemed longer....

Then after I walked away th bank manaer comes up to me and says 'sorry for the long wait, we appreciate your business" and hands me what looked like a free pizza coupon...

At first glance i thought 'damn thats pretty cool a free Papa Johns pizza' , shoot i even give away pizza from time to time -so we had that mutual respect thing going briefly :missingte

....then I looked a little closer and read the last line, "if you buy a pizza you get another at no cost" :WTF:

I felt like turning around and handing the ticket back to the lady, I just shook my head and tossed it...this was nothing more than a coupon you could get in any mailer.....

uhh thanks but no thanks, the bank trying to get a kickback on pizza now, WTF.

Funny thing is you could be right, I never saw anyone stand there like that....you rarely see a deal on one pizza anymore....they make you buy 20 bucks worth of stuff to get an deals

Dang. Wish you went back to the lady and said, "Would you mind ordering the 1st pizza now so I can get the free one? I will be back in 30 minutes to pick up the free pizza. Thank you, it is much appreciated."

Pappa johns does not have buy one get one free deals...so I think its was a token of appreciation. They are one of the few pizza joints that does not do that for promos...at least not here in Houston

I wonder what we would get for waiting up to an hour at the bank here in Costa Rica.

WTF are you doing going INTO a bank? The last time I actually went into a bank was 5+ years ago when my wife put me on her checking account.

the cost to make a pizza is like 45 cents. We did the math @ our restaurant, and a normal cheese pizza @ a family owned restaurant only cost us 45 cents. So for these huge chains its prob even less since all there stuff is prepackaged, and bought in super bulk.
