Since 1968 - 39 years - we are waiting for a title. Tonight, for the second time since 1982 (when 1. FC Nürnberg lost the cup final against Bayern Munich) we have the chance to win the cup.
I guess none of you americans have a clue what it means for a region when their local club wins a title. There will be around 40.000 people downtown Nürnberg watching the match at 3 public viewing areas. Beergardens and pubs will be packed. The warm-up for the match started a 1 pm (the match starts at 8 pm local). People are already out in the streets wearing team shirts etc etc etc. The whole region will come to a standstill today at match time. There are just a few soccer fans in this forum (such as winbet etc.) who have a clue what a cup final means and how special it is for you as a fan. 39 years - I hope it ends tonight and 100.000s will be out in the streets tomorrow when the team arrives back home (with the cup).
We all have the same feeling we had during the WC last year.

For betting purposes:

GERMAN CUP FINAL - 1. FC NÜRNBERG vs. VFB Stuttgart
Odds: +225 +220 +110 +0.5 -132 -0.5 +111 o/u 2.5 +100 / -119
Nürnberg to lift the cup around +120

Usually I don`t bet on my team but tonight I will make a big bet on Nürnberg to win the cup.
VFB Stuttgarte claimed the German Bundesliga title last weekend and their legs should, at some point of the match - get tired from all the celebrations. They have a pretty young and strong team and no injury worries. However the lost both games against Nürnberg by 0-3.

On the other hand my team is fully rested. We qualified for the European cup next season weeks ago and so our coach was able to rest some keyplayers. There were some injury problems by the end of the season but excpet for Vittek (questionable) he has a complete squad. For the first time in the last weeks he started all of his keyplayers last weekend and they managed to win 3-0 at Hannover.

It will be an exciting match but I am sure we will win the cup.

Watch out: In case the match will finish in a penalty shootout you will see a late sub of our goalkeeper. Klewer, the backup goalie saved 6 penalties in the last 2 cup matches and the coach did exactly what I wrote before.

Have fun watching the match.
