3*Padres -127
Greg Maddux outside of one bad start has been putting forth quality start after quality start. Hes been fairly consistent both on the road and at home and while he hasnt done anything spectacular he has kept his team in the ball game. Chacon on the other hand has been horrible the past few years. While he kept his run total low last outing he only lasted for 3 innings where he walked 5 and amassed 80 pitches. If his control continues to struggle it'll be up to Pirates pen to hold down the Padres. After a good start their pen has started to show its true colors as an average to subpar unit. Not to mention the Pirates offense has been somewhat anemic. Jason Bay being the only true threat on offense with Freddy Sanchez not being quite the player he was last year and wonderboy Ryan Doumit coming back down to Earth. The Padres are playing good baseball right now winning their past 5 series and youngster Kouzmanoff is finally proving his worth this month of May. Look for them to continue it tomorrow.
