Going to try and keep all of my college baseball plays for the first round here of regionals in this thread since this is the MLB Forum, and I don't want to start a new thread everyday and clog the MLB Forum up with college plays.

If you have any questions on teams, games, players, etc, I follow college baseball very closely and am a has been.

Personally, I throw money management out the window on college baseball, because I feel like I know the game better than any person on the planet. I may post a 15* play as I have done in years past. I dont recommend that you do the same. You are responsible for clicking the submit button on your money, not me. I do not guarantee winning seasons or winning plays. This is still gambling.

Been brushing up research lately trying to find the best plays fo the regionals, as the books have adjusted their lines and gotten sharper lines every year.

Dusclaimer:

Because I am superstitious....I am still using my terminology of "Locks of the Millenium". "Locks of the Millenium" were what I called the most ridiculous lines that the books were hanging a few years ago on college lines. Like when #1 overall pick Luke Hochevar and an Omaha bound Tennessee Volunteer team was -170 over Winthrop at Tennessee's regional. I was explaining that that game should have been like -800 or -900, therefore, I called it my "Lock of the Millenium". I have continued to use that terminology for plays over the years, and those plays have gone something like 26-3. Maybe someone can look it up. Please use sound money management, no play is really a lock.

I'll put some leans and thoughts up in a little, then post some plays. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Interesting Middle Seeds:

-Oregon State

The defending National Champs still can't hit, and it's amazing how they managed to win last year coming out of the loser's bracket. But they have won big series this year, and showed they are still very capable of hanging with the best of them. Darwin Barney is their guy on offense, and Stutes on the mound is still a top pitcher in the conference. This team could have value and provide a scare.

-Cal State Fullerton

Wes Roemer is a winner, but his lack of overpowering pitches, and a phenomenal K/BB ratio last year has caught up to him this year. You cant continue to dominate without having dominant stuff, and Roemer doesnt have dominant stuff as I stated all of last year. He's a winner though, and despite his average year by his standards, he still provides value and a tough minded bulldog on the mound that wont give away free passes, and wont go down without a fight.

Miami Hurricanes

This team isnt that good, but they always seem to get hot post-season.

Yonder Alonso is an up and coming star in baseball with mega power, and provides a huge bat in the Hurricane lineup that can cause opposing pitchers problems. Miamis' pitching remains weak. Who can forget the scorefests between them and Ole Miss at Oxford last year.

Most Likely #1 Seed to go down (Overvalued):

South Carolina

I love south carolina in post season play. They have historically been a great tournament team. But this Gamecock team just isnt the same this year. They are very weak, and very overrated. They have a future top 10 pick in Smoak, but their pitching is suspect and the bottom of their lineup has its moments where they cant produce.

Clemson (2 seed) +125

Another team that looks like they have value. They have tremendous post season experience, big time experience, and I'm not sold on Coastal Carolina holding down a Tiger Juggernaut Baseball Program.

UC Irvine

Arizona's Andy Lopez was hired the baseball job at UC Irvine a few years back as his buddy from UCLA became the AD..calling it a sleeping giant...and he made a big deal about turning down a nothing position at the time. Turns out Lopez was right. UC Irvine has progressed into a good program, and they have a few arms that are very good, and a few arms that are very overrated. The question with most of these west coast teams, is can they hit? A lot of the west coats teams have good arms, but no big bats. In the SEC, you have Gorilla Ball, and no arms.

#1 National Seed Vanderbilt is the one team with big arms, that plays scrappy west coast Augie Garrdio style ball. 6'6" LHP All American Ace David Price is a superstar. He put together the best single season of stats I have ever seen at the college level. 175 K's to 25 walks. Sick. 11-0, sick. 175 Ks lead the country. 124 IP, just 1 HR. Opponents bat about .198 off him.

Just amazing. Dont plan on seeing any value on him, and I dont reccommend grabbing the big underdog price against him, until he plays a legit team.

so is this a play? and if so, for how many units big dawg?

No, I'm just a rambling moron right now putting some general thoughts out there to stimulate some discussion before I put some plays in. I'll put my plays in the big bold letters like I usually do, so it's easy to skip down the thread and find the plays.

My Plays Range from 1*-20* for college baseball. I do not recommend that anyone follow at that clip. Please take my units and divide them by 2 or 3 to find the normal unit amount that you should play if you are interested in following. No play is a lock, and my terminology is a superstitious tradition. Good luck.

10* Lock of the Millenium
Arizona Wildcats -185

Future:
2* Arizona Wildcats To Win Wichita Regional +200

Preston Guilmet is one of the top pitchers in the country. He, and Wes Roemer are two big game pitchers that don’t overpower you. (Although in college 88-90 MPH fastballs can overpower some hitters). Particularly hitters from weaker conferences such as Oral Roberts that simply don’t have the talent/bat speed to hang consistently with the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year. Guilmet is a tough pitcher, that has begun earning a reputation for being a big game pitcher. Even if he somehow struggled in this game, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Arizona</st1:place></st1:State> brings two big arms out of the bullpen, which also give them pitching depth and major advantages in the later innings, which I think propels them through this regional. College baseball is about damage control, and the bullpen arms of the Wildcats will do just that.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
This line stays reasonable because Oral Roberts actually made Super Regionals last year, with the help of today’s ace starter and All-American Chance Chapman. Chapman compiled some dominant numbers this season, but the truth is, it was against poor talent, in a poor conference and he has a very tall task today as the Wildcats have one of the best lineups in the country.

When Oral Roberts played anyone worth noting this year, they lost and ost bad. Swept by Texas. Lost 2 out of 3 to Baylor. Swetp by TCU. Blown out by Arkansas. Lost 2/3 to Cal. 2/3 to Long Beach. Etc. They enter the regionals beating the likes of Valpairiso, Oakland and Centenary. They are with the big boys now. Wildcats coach Andy Lopez is a coach that preaches tough minded, mentally tough players and he is one of only 2 coaches in the history of college baseball to take 3 different programs to Omaha.
