Take any players from your team since 1987, give me your starters, rotation, and closer.

My favorite Atlanta Braves team would be this, however, there would be many ways to make a better lineup to add some speed. I'm sure I'm leaving out some guys, this is just off the top of my head.

1B- Fred McGriff
2B- Marcus Giles
SS- Jeff Blauser/Furcal
3B- Chipper Jones
OF- Dale Murphey
OF- Andruw Jones
OF- Dave Justice
C- Javy Lopez

Starting Rotation- Gregg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Steve Avery, Tim Hudson

Closer- Mark Wohlers

I'd have to put Andres Galarragga in there instead of Fred McGriff. I'd firm up Furcal instead of Blauser or maybe reconsider Brett Butler. I'd also be forced to add John Rocker as a closer. The best single inning I've ever seen pitched in my life was by John Rocker.

Ok here goes

1b Mark Grace
2b Ryne Sandberg
SS Shawon Dunston
3b Aramis Ramirez
OF Moises Alou
OF Sammy Sosa
OF Andre Dawson
C Jody Davis
SP Greg Maddux,Carlos Zambrano,Jamie Moyer,Kevin Tapani,Mark Prior/Kerry Wood
Closer Rod Beck or Randy Myers

No wonder this damn team always sucks. I couldnt put 5 good Starters together in 20 years. Maddux is it.

I cant think of a decent catcher. DamonBerryhill, Ric Wrona, Michael Barrett

The closers are a couple years of good stats and than thats it. Man this was depressing.

I tell you what, Stewart during his career has come up with more clutch hits, but I would say that Hunter has been alot better defensively. Not a big Torri Hunter fan, gets paid alot of money and continually grounds into double plays.

Bere was 12-5 in '93 and 12-2 in '94 (had good K #'s as well)t hen after the strike fizzled like WOOD and PRIOR. Other notables were an ALL STAR year by Cal Eldred (10-2) and Loaiza (21-9).

Loved the McDowell, ALAVAREZ, Fernandez, Bere Rotation back in '94.

Most of this team is from the '90 world champs. This is depressing. The franchise has been pretty bad the past 20 yrs

Pirates:

C Jason Kendall
1B Kevin Young - tough call over Bream, Jeff King. Young had a few really good seasons.
2B Tony Womack - Gonna take offense and speed here over the defense of Jose (Chico) Lind
3B Bobby Bonilla
SS Jay Bell
LF Barry Bonds
CF Andy Van Slyke
RF Brian Giles

SP Doug Drabek
SP John Smiley
SP Zane Smith
SP Kris Benson

Better go with a 4 man rotation cause our starters have been brutal over the years. Didnt include Jason Schmidt since (naturally) he sucked or was injured during his Bucs career.

Righty Reliever - Stan Belinda
Lefty Reliever - Bob Patterson
Closer - Mike Williams

All in all a rather sorry team, especially the pitching. Take a few studs from the late 80's/early 90's off the team and it's downright putrid
