I hope Minky is OK.
That was a shot he took in the head.
I'm not sure I have ever seen that cart before that took him off.
yes, because an obvious improvment should not be made. brilliant analysis four td's in one game guy. you should be a major league manager. they think like you
'obvious improvement'
WHY? The Red Sox are off to their best start in franchise history, have the best record in MLB, & have a 12.5 game lead w/in the division?
The thing that the Sox fans ALWAYS do...overreact about whats happening in the present.
If we went by your 'obvious improvement' style of managing - Dustin Pedroia would have been benched just 2.5 weeks ago (exactly 19 days)...where he was batting .172. Thats a fact. Seriously, at least 95% of RSN was bitching about this...and saying Tito should start Cora.
He's swinging a very hot bat - yes...will he continue to hit .336 - no...and Lugo (a veteran lead off guy, w/ 17 steals & 33 runs this season) will not continue to bat .226.
Just take a deep breath...don't need to make major changes in the lineup...your team is doin fine.
Not meaning to be a wiseass...but from a non-sox fan perspective, the Offshore section of the forum has been filled w/ too much 'homerism'...am i the only one getting slightly annoyed by it?
Just to make it clear...how do you know Pedroia is the 'real deal'?
* He was drafted in 2004...only batted .255 & .305 in Pawtucket in two seasons.
* Strong majority of this season he was batting < .200 (.172 just 19 games ago, to be exact).
I'm not saying he's a bad player...i actually favor Pedroia as a player...but RSN are jumping the gun again...He's not going to be a super star, he's in the Marcus Giles mold...which is great to have.
He's still a rookie...and Lugo (although I do agree he's overrated) has a MUCH better track record...and the overall team's offensive numbers do not indicate a change should be necessar. Thats not an opinion, its a fact. Similar to when Bill Mueller won the batting champ. crown during the 2004 run...batting 7th...they tried moving him up...he batted in the area of .220 at 1 or 2 in the lineup.
Its assanine to change up the leadoff w/ a rookie...when your team has basically the top offense in the league.
Just relax, already...geesh.
Pedroia extended his road hitting streak to 29 games when he doubled in the first inning, the longest by a Red Sox player since Tris Speaker hit in 29 straight in 1913. Pedroia has a 10-game hitting streak overall.
