Moved into my new home this week and have been without cable and internet most of the week.

If given a choice of only one I would take the internet everyday of the week.

Internet because I could simply use MLB.tv to watch the MLB, etc. CSTV for college sports. Download the rest of the shows I want to see, etc.

What Intrinzik said, Internet encompasses TV these days.

Fairly soon it won't matter.

Personally I believe in 5 or 6 more years there will only be internet as there is bound to be technology that combines the two mediums into one single device. Your computer screen will also be your Television as TV screens evolve into monitors slowly but surely.

Correct. And what goes around comes around. Fiber optic was the rage in the 80's and it is today too.

Patiently awaiting Verizon FIOS to be available in my area.

It's VERY fast and cost effective. And more than likely, will eventually provide both internet and cable on one line as you have eluded too.

My TV and Internet have been coming down the same fibre optic cable for years, the provider just hasn't made available a PC-compatible decoder for the TV pictures yet.
