2007 MLB 3-Team Parlays: 0-0 (+0.00 Units)

Gonna try something a bit different to try and change my luck. I am playing these online as well as at the local lottery booth where the Government allows us to parlay three teams in most sports and try to make some cash. I have not been winning many bets as of late since my hot streak in April and now that June is here, I think it's time I start catching some break here and there.

Monday, June 4

Atlanta Braves ML -217

I am getting much better odds on the local lottery than online but I don't really care because I am sticking to my parlay. This really comes down to the Braves being the much better hitting team against right handed pitchers. Obermueller has not been all that solid as of late and the team has lost his last three starts and won only twice in his six starts this season. Tim Hudson has been atrocious over his last three starts but I think this is a great spot for him to have a bounce back game against a Florida team that is hitting only .236 versus right handed pitchers in their last 10 games. The Braves have feasted on several righties the last two weeks and are batting .319 against them in their last 10 games. The Marlins are exactly what Hudson needs and a win is what he is gonna get. Obermueller is not to be trusted on the road or against the Braves while Hudson is 5-0 versus Florida in 9 career starts.

Pittsburgh Pirates ML +137

Not a wise move to back the Dodgers at a price that looks too good to be true. I know the Pirates are not the most enticing bet of the night but neither were the D-Rays and neither were the Giants and they both won this afternoon. The Pirates are actually hitting well enough that they don't deserve this kind of underdog tag at home, not in a game where the Dodgers have already won twice and are flying out of town tonight. I don't know how interested the Dodgers are going to be but with over 70% of the wagerline assclowns betting on them, on the road against a team hitting as well as the Pirates, I think the Bucs are the play in this one. Pittsburgh is hitting .288 in their last 10 games and it's a well known fact that the Dodgers don't hit nearly as well on the road as they do at home. Derek Lowe has been lights out in his last three starts but I think this Pirates lineup can give him a nice run for his money and I think Pat Maholm can do a nice job holding off the Dodger bats tonight. The young lefty is coming off a few decent starts and he is bound to have good luck sooner or later. Give me the Pirates in this one.

Seattle Mariners ML -136

Okay I don't want to push my luck with the Mariners because I have a feeling they are about to start screwing bettors over but at this point in time they are one of the hottest hitting lineups in the Majors and I am willing to bet on them at this price in this parlay. I am aware that Bedard is on the mound for the O's but they have lost two of his last three starts and have supported him with only 2.7 runs per game in those three starts. The Orioles have now lost three straight, all at the hands of the Angels and you know what that means...it means that Seattle is not about to let these guys walk in here and beat them after they just lost to their division rivals. Nope...not happening. King Felix is on the mound tonight for Seattle and he is lucky to be facing a much easier lineup tonight than he did in his last start against the Angels. Baltimore is batting only .238 versus right handed pitchers in their last ten games while the Mariners are batting .280 versus left handed pitchers in their last ten games. Bedard has not had a good time pitching in this park (gave up 8 ER's in 5 innings in his only start here last year) and the Mariners are rolling big time right now. Great value.
