Source says that Angles say Cashman can select a package of any available players EXCEPT Vlad, K-Rod and Lackey. Seems like it be hard to give up Alex for a package without these three.

Obviously the more the Yanks lose, the better a chance that A-Rod opts out. It seems that if the Yankas can close the gap significantly in the next few weeks, Cashman will entertain offers.

If I was Yanks, Id take top prospecs, try to pry Lackey and maybe Chone

You forgot the below and Howie Kendrick, taken from Baseball America's top 10 Angels prospects

TOP TEN
PROSPECTS
1. Brandon Wood, ss
2. Nick Adenhart, rhp
3. Erick Aybar, ss
4. Young-Il Jung, rhp
5. Stephen Marek, rhp
6. Hank Conger, c
7. Jeff Mathis, c
8. Sean Rodriguez, ss/2b
9. Sean O'Sullivan, rhp
10. Tommy Mendoza, rhp

Angels have PLENTY to give up to make it an attractive deal to NYY. NYY should do it, they are toast and he is opting out regardless. I don't know how good any of those prospects are, but I imagine someone is attractive to NYY I think they still have Dallas McPherson too.

Why would the Angels give up soild major league players for a guy who is a safe bet to opt out of his contact. If Arod does get traded he will be traded for 50 cents on the dollar. Besides the Angels are always been tight with regards to trading there prospects I doubt that is going to change much.

The Angels are definitely a team with the resources to make this trade. One more big bat along side Vlad could put them over the hump in this years playoffs.

C'mon Rob, at the end of the year his stats are consistenly among the best. I know the Red Sock inside couldn't let this thread go without a jab though. :missingte

Um, anyone who wouldn't take Arod on their team is a moron.

He can't control what others do around him. Half the battle is just getting to the postseason, and his postseason numbers overall are very good.

.280-.362-.485 6 homers 9 doubles. Playoff samples are stupid anyways, to cut the sample set down even more is idiotic. Judge the biggest sample possible.

I know that. I have a real problem taking a player with monster stats early on that has to only play half ass the rest of the way to have a great year. Is the only point I am making.

I do think Alex will end up with the all time HR record he is that good.

With Jeter being hurt I would have him playing SS right now.

Obviously they make the deal with an A-Rod extension worked out already, genius.

angels would be a bona fide world series threat with arod and the core of untradeable guys.

rodriguez would absolutely thrive in a midmarket like that.

He is a much better short stop than Jeter could ever hope to be. Look at the performance.

Obviously you don't know Scott Boras his agent genius. Tell me how many of his cilents that he has pulled off the market before he could become a free agent? Like its that simple and again as someone asked where did you get this info from anyway.
