I watch these clowns every year. I've got them figured out.

They win when they're supposed to lose.
They lose when they're supposed to win.

Case in point:

They play the Braves. They sweep the Braves.
They then lose 5 of 6 at home to Arizona and SF Giants.

Now, they're about to sweep the Mets.

Next, they play KC.

I guarantee they lose two of three to the Royals, and then get swept by the Chi-Sox

Kind of like the Cubs actually.

Cubbies playing well now. Just wait till they're home favorites. They're gonna go down faster than Brittany Spears' music career

It means that unless Zito or some other Hof pitcher is rolling, we can put up runs and so we are never out of a game. Lieber is the big problem now I would fade him.

We have big problems but so do 25 other teams. We do have the best first five batters in the NL when facing a righty though. IMO.

Did you read Bill Conlin the other day, I think it was Tuesday? He made the point that if you look at the past 5 or so years, it doesn't matter what year it is, the Phillies have the same exact record and identical problems at the same months. They always start slow, they heat up in the middle of the season to give us hope and then they finish a game out. Always
