back in the old days if a guy had a winner...he kept it to himself.. bet it to the hilt and smiled when he collected...
nowadays everybody seems to have a winner....and they love to share....I have even been guilty of that....and i guess thats the way it is nowadays...
even though the people i learned the business from...would absolutely shit if they knew i was passing info along....they dont follow "sports forums"...to them "therx" is just like it says . ....a pharmacy
The guys i learned the business from are dying out...they are getting old...70 and 80 year old guys who who were booking horses before televisions were invented..the guys who shut vegas down for a while...no action on baseball totals was the word...because some old timers figured out the wind played a key role in certain ball parks...
the same guys who were "honorable" bookmakers....."do they pay???" was unheard of back then....a bookmaker stiffing a player??.....you had a better chance of jesus christ himself stiffing you.....
if your a young gambler....if you ever get a chance to meet someone who was a gambler back when the only sport to bet on was ponies...(dice games aside) pick his brain....i promise you his knowledge will be invaluable...

it's a shame he's tied up with some of the head mod duties and doesn't have the free time to just post, he is easily one of the more knowledgeable sports guys, I don't think a lot of the newer guys realize this.
