Simontacchi's last 2 starts are better than they look on paper. He was a victim of a lot of seeing-eye grounders and a few pop flys that fell between outfielders for hits. In his start vs the Dodgers, he left the game with the bases loaded after intentionally walking a guy and the bullpen promptly let all 3 runs score - which were all charged to JSimon. Tonight he pitches in the Metrodome for the 1st time and in his previous turns on artificial turf he has a stellar 1.69 ERA. Granted that was only from 10 innings but nonetheless, he is nearly a 2-1 dog tonight. For the Twins, Silva is coming off 2 nice efforts, but he is not the kind of guy I would lay -200 with as his career shows he consistently allows multiple hits per inning pitched.

I am taking 2 units on Wash +190
and 4 units +1.5 runs at -115

Simontacchi with his longest outing of the year improves on that nice indoor record and Silva came back to reality after 2 good starts and gets knocked out early.

Simontacchi has overcome injuries and bounced around the minor leagues so good for him having some success. He started out his career for St. Louis and won something like 7 of his first 8 starts so I have been keeping an eye out for him now that he is getting another shot with the Nats.

Nice call, especially with the Twinkie bats back in the tank.
