Been a while. I remember Pedro was -400 against the D-Rays a couple of years ago. Books didn't want any Bosox action.

best play is to bang the under. santana will get no run support. twins will win but put a sweat into their backers with something like a 4-2 score.

I was thinking the same thing...

I can see the In Game threads now..."WTF is Minny doing?!"...."Score some damn runs Twins..." etc...

I've been breaking down this game for the past 30 minutes, and I am very tempted to fade Santana for a unit.
And Santana has not been sharp as in recent years.
First off, he's been getting crappy run support.
Second off, Nats hit lefties very well.
(these stats are against southpaws for 2007)

Young is .388 avg .423 oba
Zimmerman is .345 avg .410 oba
Kearns is .314 avg .386 oba (2 dingers)
Belliard is .294 avg.321 oba
Logan is .294 avg .314 oba
Lopez is .288 avg .358 oba
Guzman is .276 avg .276 oba

All should be in the line up today

The only thing that is holding me back is Speigner is not really a starter (he is one now) and has only 28 innings pitched.
That and he got creamed his past 3 starts.

best play on this game might be to parlay the twins if anything with something else.

Often times when these kinds of lines come out, the general public will not want to pay the juice so they either parlay it with some other game or play the run-line thinking that it's a sure bet. However, more times than not games often trap in so much fav money that the books just clean-up w/ the dog upsets. Just a thought I wanted to input about your parlay idea. Not dogging your idea, just think there's a better way to just lay the juice down through strategic wagering or finding better values in other games.

If you even consider laying -370 is this situation, just donate what you are going to lose gambling to a worthwhile charity.

Even if the Twins win 12-1, it's a terrible bet in this spot.

A few years back there was a day where there were 2 -400 faves. One was the D'Backs with the Unit against the Brew Crew and can't remember the other.
I do remember they both lost to the underdog.

As Dr.Dre. would say: "It was a good day".

I Live In The TC`s And Believe Me

This is NOT the Johan of the last 2 yrs. Will they win? Probably, Speigner is awful. Am I willing to lay that sort of juice in a BB gm? No. GD is right, there are better bets out there. Like Mil/ Tx sans Texiera. This is one of the biggest differences in BB vs Foots. For example, take the 83 Huskers of Rozier, etc. playing MN and fav. by + 5 TDS. In those kinds of games there was NO chance the GG would actually win SU. That`s why the boys in the backroom @ the Lincoln Rec. invented the pt spread. Up to that time the ONLY sports wagered on big time were boxing & BB. But in foots no amount of pricing could even out a game between Mich. & KSt, in those days.

I do, the other was Pedro-he lost.
Also Moose was like -240 or something, he lost also.
And so did another -250 or something fave.

I still remember that Moose, Pedro, Unit, and I think the other heavy fave was Maddux, not sure though, all lost on the same day.
