are all in horrendous slumps. AWFUL! There is an article in the Boston Globe today detailing how bad the three have been. I mean near the bottom of the league at their position in a lot of categories. SOmething has got to give. Lucky the pitching has kept the Sox on top but not if this keeps up.

Lugo - is very shaky at bat and in the field. He runs well and does other things but he needs to pick it up. Not sure he can.

Crisp - I said it before and will say it again. CRISP SUCKS. He also cannot handle the pressure of playing in Boston. No power from him either. They/We are waiting for our AAA Stud to develop but probably not till next year.

Drew - Everyone questioned spending big money for this guy who always gets injured. Some think he may be injured but regardless is not getting it done. He looks like a hitter and has the potential...but he is not getting it done. Disappointing.

All three are on the books for big money especially Drew and Lugo. Epstein has got to figure something out.

Wish we had that small problem in Chicago

The White Sox are all in horrendous slumps. AWFUL! There is an article in the Chicago Tribune this week detailing how bad the the enite team has been. I mean near the bottom of the league at their position in a lot of categories. SOmething has got to give. Lucky the starting pitching is servicable, niddle relief sucks as well.

Cold Sox bats chilling reminder of '60s
Look at the batting averages before Tuesday night's game with the Yankees: Juan Uribe, .215; Paul Konerko, .229; Joe Crede, .216; Jermaine Dye, .228; Tadahito Iguchi, .242.

You look at the TV and wonder where the 2005-06 Sox went. You almost expect to see on the screen such light-hitting '60s Sox stalwarts as Ken Berry, Don Buford, Tommy McCraw, Al Weis and the rest.

Theo Epstein is the most overated GM in the history of the game.

Sometimes you wonder about theo. This could be talked about in much much greater detail. Has made a lot of bad moves...A lot. Some good ones too though.

Everyone warned you guys about Drew. He is a f*ing tin man (i.e., no heart). Bill Simmons absolutely destroyed the guy over winter when they signed him, worth reading b/c everything he said and his readers that wrote in are 100% correct. Only a fool would have signed that jerkoff for any price, let alone the one he got. He has been universally hated by all of his team's fans (LAD (of which I am one), STL, probably ATL although he is perfect for that soulless and heartless organization).

Theo is a Dave Roberts SB and Yankee metldown from being a footnote in baseball history. Literally inches on that SB.

Some of the best are the ones you don't make. NOT SIGNING CLEMENS, possibly good, not signing DAMON using $$ for other things, etc. JURY still out on a lot of things. Meanwhile the LOWELL, BECKET trade is still being played out.

Umm surely (I know, dont call you Shirly) after 7 RBI game you dont think Drew is in a slump anymore?!

I'm always happy when he comes to the plate. He's got POWER.

And Crisps' glove has probably won some games for us.

Uh, no comment on Lugo.

As far as Theo's moves. You would not believe how many moves have been made over the past couple of years. A million. He blew it with some pitching last year. THey also have a good minor league system and work hard at that. It is more than just trades and FA signings. It is a lot to figure out. Like I said he has made a million moves....a lot bad and many good too. I still think he is learning and took a beating last year with the bad moves. Also they have a great bullpen and those signings are his too. Not easy being a GM in baseball and all that money can hurt you with a few bad pickups in a big team market. Bottom line is they are in first right now so I do not want to go overboard. But Theo has made some costly mistakes the past few years.

I thought I was bad, but you guys are super-duper critical.

The only thing I dont like right now is Wake as a starter and the bats are cold (if you dont count yesterday)

Theo has made some mistakes, but hes also put together a nice team and has a ring. Stuff happens, at least he is proactive. I dont miss Han Ram, I'll take Beckett over him any day.

Can you Redsox guys list the good and the bad of his moves..

Manny, irrevocable waivers. While he got lucky and no one picked him up -> HORRIBLE MOVE. What is the purpose of that? How can you replace his production? The guy is loved, quirky, but not a problem in the clubhouse and you know you are getting .310/35/120 annually. The dude is one of the 3 best right handed hitters EVER and he tried to literally give him away.

I never understood that either. What were they going to replace him with.

Can you believe the Yanks might have had him?!

Another bad move, not resigning Cabrera and getting Renteria instead.

complaining when you're ahead in the division by that much?

You're begging to have this turn back on you and your Sox. No WS for you guys.
Dsethi, it's just baseball. We see holes, we are going to point them out and talk about them.

Being up 10 in early June means nothing. The Yanks or whomever might still take it.

I remember that but at the time if no one picked him up everyone must have thought the samething about Manny.

No one wanted to pay his contract from what I remember..
