Thoughts on the M's chances?

The difficulty of their division, combined with their lack of starting pitching, will probably do them in. It's hard to envision Washburn, Batista, and Baek getting the job done all season, although it's pleasantly unexpected that their record is this good with an unhealthy King Felix, and an unproductive Batista and Baek.

I'm rooting like hell for 'em. Can't not root for Ichiro and the Jose's.

Good points Skins. I'm in love with our pen. Between Green/Sherrill/Morrow/Putz we have a young core of relievers that will be around for years to come. The revival of the Jose's careers is a great story.

Your pen is FILTHY. You see Putz shatter two bats in three pitches tonight? Filthy. Clutch hitting and a great pen have been key so far for the M's...hopefully they can keep it up.

As for Guillen, he's the kinda player you might dislike if he's not on your team, but absolutely LOVE him if he is. Guy leaves it all on the field.

And as for Vidro, the guy can just flat out rake.

I really wish we had kept both those guys. Mariners are the unofficial Nats West. And it's impossible not to love Ichiro.

I hate the Yankees actually....everyone wrote them off in late May though...There's not much difference between them and Boston and by Sept I would not be at all surprised to see NY as the team playing better between them.

Seattle Pen is awesome, their sp's will not get them to the playoffs

I'll never forget last year at the Giants/M's game when Putz blew 2 fastballs by Bonds including strike 3 swinging. Hadn't felt that much electricity in Safeco since '01/'02 seasons.
