After hating the Yankees most of my life I think I have become a closet Yankee fan

Big Blue Jays fan my whole life, but a few years ago I started watching the Yankees because we get all the games here. Now they add YESHD and now I find myself watching them all the time. Hell I even bet on them a few times this season. I tell my friends I hate The Yankees but during this current streak I find myself rooting for them. I never thought it would happen but I think I have become a Yankees fan purely by accident. Hell my best friend passed away last year and he was one of the biggest Yankee fans around and I would constantly bash The Yanks when we hung out. If he could only see me now.

O's fan here - still hate them. But I'm really tired of the 'Yanks are dead' talk every year, especially from BoSox fans. It 'almost' makes we want the Yankess to win - the agony of BoSox fans is worth more than the insufferable gloating of NY fans.

Love em or hate em, they've made me a lot of money this week.

With all of the winning by them this week, they are STILL, as of the start of play today, the biggest moneyburner in all of MLB, so that oughta tell you something...

Most posters know I am a Red Sox fan but the strange thing is I don't hate any other baseball teams, especially because of their fans. Every team has fans, which is short for fanatic. Why shouldn't fans boast about their favorite teams. Some fans are long suffering like devout followers of the Cubs, Red Sox (save 2004), Mets, Phils, Giants, Dodgers, Pirates and several other clubs who can't seem to win it all these days. I feel for those fans because I know how much it sucks to root for teams that never win the big game.

What is strange for me is it is entirely different in NFL football where I hate several teams mainly the Raiders and Steelers (Colts and Broncos slightly less hated than the other two despied squads in Oakland and Pittsburg). Don't ask me why there is a difference between sports, with the hating or not hating teams, I can't figure it out myself. If pressed for an explanation it is probably because of the Pats and the promise they give to their fans every preseason.

Pats fans are in most cases confident that each year their team has a real shot to win it all unlike Red Sox fans who definitely should know better than to get their hopes up at all. History is all the proof you need to avoid being dissapointed year in and year out by the Red Sox and the other perennial losers.

Finally Harry is coming around. Now, if he'd just stop betting against the Sabres I'd consider him a real Buffalonian.

I still hate the Yankees. I always have.

Yet they have been a good fade throughout the years.

Because Joe Square loves to bet 'em up.

Welcome Harry, there is always room for 1 more in the empire.

Rick Riley of SI put it best when he said,

"Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Brad Pitt to get laid."
