Do people really follow college baseball?

I never hear anyone talk about it except on these boards. If it is as big as ESPN makes it out to be, why don't they show regular season games. I never see any games on Fox Detroit or Comcast Sportsnet Chicago. To me it is hard to watch with the aluminum bats, just a different game. Reminds me of college hockey and a niche audience. Outside of the South and West coast, why does anyone care?

Let me hear why.

Reminder for Shiz

I never did receive your email the other day (made a post at the time) in order to have you removed from the Bookmaker.com telemarking list. I can't help without the Bookmaker.com account number. If you still want me to have your name removed from the calling list please email me at:

wilheim@therx.com - backup - person19481950@yahoo.com .

I don't need your name except for Shiz and the account number and briefly mention why you are emailing me.

Thanks, wilheim

agree, that 'ping' sound alone is hard to get past...I've never cared for it , doesn't seem like the same sport.

There is probably a correlation between the amount of money bet on a game and the amount of viewers. Not a lot of bookies with line on college bases. Many, (ALL) bookies with lines on college foots and hoops.

They've had lines on all the regional & super regionals at BetOnline.com

I love college bases this time of year, but don't really follow that closely until it gets to the regionals.

Its pretty obvious that Boxslayer follows it closely.

Plenty regular rx posters were posting in his threads.

Didnt see how he ended this weekend, but he was up alot as of Saturday.

College baseball is big in the south. ACC is a big deal, games are tough to find a seat for sometimes. Games like NC State/UNC are standing room only and its a great atmosphere, tons of heckling from the college kids.

And who doesn't enjoy going to the park on the weekends in great weather and watching a game of baseball. Players are legit too get to see a lot of good prospects.

I've been watching the college world series as long as it's been broadcast, can't remember when it started.

I'm guessing if you played baseball growing up, or if you are a big baseball fan, you are more apt to follow college baseball and minor league bb too. I know lots of people that don't give a shit about baseball, so probably think the CWS is a major distraction from watching poker or bass fishing

Living in Omaha, and being able to go to the CWS it is interesting to me for sure. The CWS is an absolute blast. The environment is awesome and nightlife is awesome during it in Omaha. Some would not believe that there could be so many hot women in Omaha, but it is true and they all seem to be out for this event.

I have heard this and if I wasn't going to take the kids to disneyworld next weekend, I would have flown out to see for myself for sure if Oregon State makes it again.

I guess I will have to hope for next year, because I've heard it's a blast

Omaha gets bigger every year.

Fullerton UCLA sold out last night, many fans begging for tickets outside the gate

I know Rail and Boxslayer have had great success capping it. I see them post lines and they move a ton. I remember very few midwest/eastern teams ever making the Series. Michigan with Jim Abbott made it, ND made it a time or two. I'm sure it is because of the weather, these teams have to travel west or south to get their games in.

It is bigger in the South, primarily because baseball is a year 'round sport in most colleges in the South. I've followed college baseball for about 20 years or so, primarily because it is the only sport that my alma mater, The Citadel, is any good at.

The 8 team double elimination tournament is a great way to spend a long weekend. I regularly attend the Southern Conference tournament and it's always exciting baseball.
