_______________________________________________________

Well my downward spiral continued with yet another bad weekend. On to today's small card.

Mets -106: 1.06 units to win 1.

Indians -145: 1.45 units to win 1.

Astros/Cubs over 8/8.5: Play is TBD. Currently is -144 for over 8 at MB and hoping to get a better price. Most books have moved to 8.5 on this game and WSEX has over 8.5 at -120. Probably won't wait much longer on this one, as it should continue to rise IMO.

BOL to everyone today.

Looking at the Mets, as well, Dodgers line-up shift putting Juan Pieere (s) down to the 8th spot have little to find in the lead-off roll, puts pressure on the ability to score. Going to see how the day goes with the #.

Guess I'll have to settle for over 8.5, -120.

Astros/Cubs over 8.5, -120: 1.8 units to win 1.5.

BOL to everyone today.

Whatup man. I figured I would respond to your Indian post here. I am on the Mets already but that might be the only game I touch on this card. It is just a bad card. I can't see myself paying that much for Byrd, not when he gets hit so much and this Seattle offense has been hitting everyone you throw at them. Now Putz should be unavailable after pitching the last 3 games right? And Cleveland has the advantage in the bullpen right now so while it might be close, not sure Seattle has enough to pull out the win and like you said, Cleveland is 21-7 at home. Best of Luck today, look forward to debating all week

GOOD LUCK IN OUR HEAD TO HEAD:toast:

Thanks man. When I saw I was up against a 59 (or so) seed, I was pretty happy. Then I realized who the 59 seed was. Needless to say I wasn't happy at all. BOL.

Thanks for the response and for all the info you posted over in that other thread. I understand where you're coming from with Byrd, but I just couldn't resist. And I wouldn't exactly say they've been hitting everything or everyone. They've been grinding out games and getting to bullpens late. I don't see them keeping this a low scoring game as they were able to do with the Padres in that big ballpark.

Any thoughts on the over in the Cubs game?

Barret isn't catching tonight, he has a .471 BA against Woody.

Aramis and Floyd might not play, have to check lineups later.

At 8.5, I had to do a double take at first, honestly.

Now what the hell is Zambrano going to do today? He has a 2.57 in 17games vs Houston in his career and he is 1-4 w/ 7.91era at home. His last good home start came on 4/23 against the Brewers, since then he has given up atleast 4er in every home start. These numbers conflict and some thing has to give here. Is Berkman suspended yet? I don't think he is so he will be in the lineup...Is Pence back from hip injury? I think he is questionable but he is a consistent bat for the Stros..Cubs used their whole bullpen in the game last night vs. ATL so they should be depleted. You can always count on the Astros bullpen to deliver some runs as well. Woody has not found much success vs. Cubbies in his career although he went 6ip-2er this yr vs them. Cubs won't have Barrett catching so Hill will be, and Aramis is still hurt, Lee is ice cold but they are scoring a few runs. Floyd could be back today.. A 4-4 tie puts this game over, so that is good. My question is why isn't this total set at 10.5? No matter what Big Z says, he has done the same thing all yr, come up big on the road and shit the bed at home. He is a headcase and I think he gets himself too siked up at home. There is no way he takes the same approach home/away. I want to see the ump for tonight, I don't need a bullshit strikezone messing everything up. I agree with the lean to the Over, I just don't know why it is so low. Is it because Aramis and Barrett are out for the Cubs? Do the books think Big Z finally pitched well at home because that would hurt the over no doubt. Astros have to get 2-3 off Zambrano in 6ip, which is very doable.

jibba....i really like the cleveland play...i have been looking at this one today. i think a major factor in the game is the fact that seattle had to fly from san diego last night to get to cleveland. then tonight after the game they need to fly to chicago. this game being plunked down in the middle of the schedule seems to favor the home team here. cleveland had a short trip home from cincy and then is on the florida. i have been watching teams that have to travel across country for there next series with no travel day. it seems they struggle the 1st game of the series. could be travel lag or just a coincidence. i hate to play against a hot seattle team and cleveland has not hit the ball consistently its last 5 games. but i think the edge is to the home team. may even look at -1.5 runs as well as the ML play

Well looks like you were right on this one. Byrd never had a chance. Can't believe I fell for this one. I seem to be getting too sucked in to the teams that played solid ball for the first month and a half, but who are now struggling. I just can't give them up. Hope this doesn't apply to the Mets tonight too.

One of these days I'll actually start to get back on track. Until then, enjoy the fade boys. :ohno:

And thanks to everyone else for the kind words. Gotta run.

Your not done yet, I will say I can root for you since I am not on this game but man if I was, I would be one pissed MF'er if Seattle blew a 7-0 lead. Currently 7-7 in the 9th and I think Putz will be unavailable.

I never doubted this one, even when it was tied. Although I've admittedly capped a lot of games wrong lately, I also haven't had any kind of good luck come my way during the bad span. Same thing in the Cubs/Astros game. Guess Zambrano was due for his best game of the year at home while Williams was due for his best game of the year on the road. Just have to keep at it and eventually I'll get turned around.
