Anyone who doesnt think they will at least win the Wild Card needs to have mental health checkup! With Clemens back in the mix, the Yankees now have an extra long reliever. And they have one of the most potent offensive linups. If Giambi was his old self, they may contend for the Division.

The main reason I believe they will grab the wildcard is because the AL central is just too tough this year and those teams will beat each other up. The only good team in the Yankees division is Boston and they dont have to play Boston too much anymore this season. I believe that they play Boston 6 more times, but they get to play Tampa Bay and Toronto 13 times!!

Their remaining National League teams seem to be pretty good matchups for the Yankees. They play Arizona, Colorado and San Francisco. They do have to play the Mets, but that series is at home and I would think that they can go 2-1 in that series. Even a 1-2 series would be fine.

I dont think that it would be out of the question for the Yankees to go 67% the rest of the way, possibly 75%. Boston, can you hear the footsteps???

Tampa Bay has a decent chance of finishing with a better record than the Yankees.

Yes, I hear the footsteps myself. The wildcard is a great thing. If you play good ball you will still get in (most likely barring two teams that play better ball). Or at least have a better chance. Good for baseball and lets see what happens.
