No one will be touching the Tigers this year. Even with their fair share of injuries this year they are still hanging tough. They are the best hitting team in baseball. Sheffield will win the MVP and (there is not a more feared hitter in baseball) once we get Rogers, Robertson and Zu back they will be that much tougher. Let's not forget they also have one of the best 1-2 punch in Verlanader and Bonderman. Our only concern is Todd Jones.

I like the odds of a bird catching a ball in the ass and dropping dead on the field--ie Dave Winfield in Toronto.. better.

Rogers looked good last night in Toledo. He is ready to come back. Zumaya may miss the entire year, though.

LOL. People have been saying this for years, and I laugh every time I hear it. It's questionable as to if Sheffield is the most feared hitter on his own team, he's certainly not the most feared hitter in his division, and that's not even including A-Rod, Vlad, Pujols, and Bonds, who are much, much more feared.

The Tigers are good though. Once they get the bullpen healthy they'll be a legitimate threat. Certainly not the favorites, but a serious contender.

F the yankees,The Indians are getting in. better starting pitching and will make a move at the trading deadline to shore up the bullpen and maybe get a stick or ownership is cheaper than I thought.

Hope you're right, but also thought they would beat an average St. Louis squad (in my opinion) last year and they found a way to lose it after having such an outstanding breakthrough year.

Man, I'm still not over that as the pain is still lingering. Sheffield is great. We love Gary here. I would say he probably is the most feared hitter in baseball when you ask pitchers around the league.

I would give the MVP nod to Magglio Ordonez for right now though. He has been tearing it up as well. Give me Sheffield over A-Rod, Pujols or Bonds currently.

It's a shame that Sheffield had to share player of the week award with A-Rod. Gary has been flat killing it and I'm not sure what more he can do to be able to win it outright. Baseball has it out for him because they think he's a trouble maker and involved with steroids. You just have to know the guy. Sheffield is solid, period.
