should be the same as the one in S Fla, which means long wait to play $1-$2 limit holdem. they cant legally offer higher stakes.

They have 50 tables in the room. The room has live action and sit and go tournaments 24 hours a day (125, 250, and 535 buy-in's). The room deals Texas Hold-em, 7 card Stud, and Omaha High Low all structured live-action Florida style (1 dollar and 2 dollar structured games - no no-limit games though). There is Royal Flush Jackpot that averages about 20K as well. They also serve drinks 24/7 :aktion033 . There are MULTI-TABLE tournaments that run everyday as well (average 120+ players per event).

I suggest go on a weekday afternoon/night and check it out. The room has a game for any gamblers budget. The casino also has 2,000 plus whacky bingo style slot machines.

****July 1 may see new poker rules in Florida, I'll post here if anything new developes.

Thanks 5 team. Do you work there?

I might go there tonight after work today as I have to go to the Lakeland office on Tuesdays...

I have been getting bored as hell in this hotel room so looking for some ways to kill time after work while I am in FL at this client site... I have been thinking about just getting a hotel in Tampa and working strictly out of the Lakeland office?

You guys recomend Tampa over Orlando? I have been coming to Orlando during the week for a year and I am begining to hate it...

Tampa is infinitley better than Orlando. I live in Ocala and manage offices in both cities. There is no comparison. While in Tampa you can even check out a D Ray game... rotflmfao..

The Hard Rock info above is correct. Daytime during the week or even weekend is the way to go. Awesome hotel room as well.

Enjoy!

Tampa also has a 1-2 NO LIMIT game and it is very easy to access. The casino boat at Treasure Island offers the game twice weekly with games on the Saturday morning cruise and the Wednesday night cruise. The rake is $5 and for $1 extra they offer a bad beat jackpot and a high hand of the week involving all holdem games for the week. On other days they spread limit and 2-5 NO LIMIT games. Below is their schedule.

MON-X
TUE-X
WED AM- 2-10-20 7 Card stud
WED PM- 1-2 NO LIMIT
THUR AM- 5-10 LIMIT
THUR PM- 5-10 LIMIT
FRI PM- 10-20 LIMIT
SAT AM- 1-2 NO LIMIT
SAT PM- 2-5 NO LIMIT
SUN AM- 2-5 NO LIMIT

All poker players recieve a comped meal at the end of the cruise and all drinks are comped during play.

Call to reserve a seat, as seating is limited(only ONE table). 727-226-0171

The room is totally smoke free also.

All in all, it's really is not that bad. I would rate the play level at 4.3

The very best way to get there(and fastest) is to take Gandy/Park Blvd west until you hit Seminole Blvd and then hang a left. About two miles down you will see a fork in the road for Mediera Beach or St. Pete.......take the Mediera beach road and this will take you to Gulf Blvd.......hand a left and Treasure Island is about two miles down the road. One can park in the garage right next to the boat. From DERBY LANE, one can be at Treasure Island in less than 30 minutes taking this route. The boat sails from 11-4 and 7-12.

Looking forward to July 1........

Dog track in Sarasota is going to be offering the $100 max buy in no limit games and higher stake tourneys.

No word exactly on what new games will be offered on July 1--only rumor to this point. I've been playing all over the state in the last few weeks and everyone has a different take, but what Billsfan says seems to be the consensus.

I live in Tampa, but I haven't played at Seminole since they built the Hard Rock Hotel. I do have many hours logged at the poker tables in the old bingo hall however. I am meeting someone over there for lunch tomorrow--maybe I'll slide in for a while.

ODKU--where do you stay in Orlando? I'm there about every three weeks. I stay out near the airport. I usually meet a buddy of mine at the dog track in Melbourne and the poker there is pretty good and I can be there in an hour. I'll probably be there on Tuesday night.

If you have to choose between Tampa and Orlando, I recommend Tampa, hands down. I tend to have more fun in Orlando only because it's "away from home" for me.
