True Bob, but I'm looking for something a little more subtle. People don't have to go in, do they?

Vegas roulette. If you play outside of the #'s and it lands on 0 or 00, you should get half of your bet back like Atlantic City has it.

In small print, the Casino/Hotels are starting to bill you $4-$5 a day for a nonsense charge like hotel amenities. They aren't the only ones as most hotels are trying that nonsense out now. If you contest the charge they will take it off.

As far as the casino goes, the lowering of pay tables in slots and video poker is quite noticeable. This "bottom line" BS is going to hurt them in the long run when business slows down. You'd think they made enough off of gambling to leave the payouts intact as they are making plenty of dough with the rise in hotel and food prices which USED to be CHEAP! Combine all this with the reduction of comps and/or the raising of player points needed to get same, and Congress allowing these Mega corporations to merge and take over one another, has really dealt the real gamblers out there a raw deal.

I remember when these gambling junkets left from the east coast for the Dunes and the Sands, and before they left for home each suitcase contained at least two bottle of top shelf liquor. Nowadays, some casinos have a policy that if you're playing video poker at the bar and order a top shelf drink, it has to be approved by a floor supervisor. Is that a joke or what?

And for you old school gamblers out there, remember when they used to have cigarettes right on the table for you to smoke? When they took those away, at least they would give you a pack of cigarettes. Now, most hotels don't even bother to offer you cigarettes. At one place I frequent in Vegas, Sam's Town, the bartender as of three years ago, used to carry tokens that worked in the cigarette machine. No more. On a recent trip, I asked the bartender for a pack of smokes, and she called over a slot supervisor. They asked to see my slot card. He started writing down the number and I asked what he was doing. He said he could either deduct 5000 points from my card or send over the cigarette girl. WTF? I grabbed my card back and said I'd buy them myself. I'd "only" put through about a grand through the machines by that hour.

It just ain't right folks!

That's for even money bets only (red/black, odd/even or 1st half/2nd half); and only applies to double-zero roulette.

Some Vegas casinos have single-zero roulette, which has about the same edge as Atlantic City rules.

If you think that's good though, try European Roulette. Basically single-zero roulette with the Atlantic City rules (plus a weird option to "imprison" your even money bets intead of getting half back). House edge: 1.35%

Really what you want to know is the edge the house has on all games when going to a casino. Learn the sucker bets and avoid them if you want your money to last but regarless few with win and many will lose.

No one has said "Insurance"?

Cause it's an idiot's bet, there only for people who don't know better.

You don't have to ever take it.

There's plenty of those types of bets. Just about any "prop/bonus" wager in any card game.

not paying 3x on 2 or 12 (I forget which it usually is). One is usually 2x and the other 3x.

Oh GD do I have a story for you that happened to me at an AC casino during Memorial Day. I never thought casinos had to rip you off until this went down. I know you work at a casino so I would like your insight.

In Las Vegas, hiding the exits via a labyrinth layout.

Just about any casino, hiding all signs of daylight and offering no clocks.
