I started watching this game in the 6th inning and Verlander was throwing some nasty pitches at them He was throwing 99 MPH fastballs in the 9th inning.

To top it off he's a classy guy, the kind of guy you'd root for. He calls one of the local Detroit sports talk show every Friday ('JV Hour') just to shoot the shit. Nice guy.

I have now seen three Tigers pitchers toss no-hitters. Verlander in 2007, Jack Morris in 1984 and Jim Bunning in 1958 (Ted Williams made last out with long fly to right). VERY EXCITING!!

I was working for SportsTicker in New York and was in Chicago for Opening Day of the 1984 season. I saw the 1958 game on black and white television with my father in our home in Detroit!!
