If you were a US player and had won a big online tournament, say for example last month at FullTilt the $500 buy-in tourney which payed out $300K for first place, how would you be able to move that much money? Looking at their withdrawal options, you can basically do bank wire, check(but only up to 5K), or Epassporte. To be on the safe side, you would probably have to move under 10K at a time but still, getting bank wires for almost 10K several times a month will send surely set off some flags. Deposting a 300K check is out of the question. It would take over a year to safely move that amount of money. Althought It's definitely a dilemma that I wouldnt mind having.

the answer to that is simple

bank the check in another country (open an account with any bank not in the usa) and wait out the 4 week hold

declare the income pay taxes end of story

(currency conversion charge you would pay - however banks also offer usd accounts or open in a country that uses usd)

I would contact one of the bigger "land" based casinos (atlantis) in the caribbean

ask them what the procedure would be to transfer $300,000 to a gambling account at their casino. As you plan on staying there a few weeks to do some gambling.

After a week or two there, if you have any $$$ left, just have them transfer it to your US account.

don't think that you could do something like this for less than six figures.
