casino and bet 20k to win like 12k on Mayweather to beat Oscar. He swears he did that the night of the fight. Are there not limits? Or is he telling be the truth? Thanks...

Ask him for a copy of the betting slip. If I win a big bet like that I would photocopy it or at least take a picture of it with my cellphone. If he stutters he's lying.

Why does it matter to you? I don't think I ever took a picture of a ticket because I don't have a camera phone. And who's going to go out of their way to have is photocopied.

The man asked if anyone would believe him. I said he would have to show proof. Someone who bets 20 dimes can certainly afford a phone with a camera.

OR he can show the W2 form which he would've got had he really won that sum.

I know plenty of degenerates (including myself) who would make this type of wager without making anywhere close to that kind of jack.

Well not exactly. Some who makes 120k a year would not bet 20k on 1 event and would think that is huge. It all depends and is relevant. He is actually not working right now but does have a little nest egg he is relying on. 20k is a big bet for him though and he is a little crazy.

It's quite simple. Ask to see the W2 form which the casino is required to fillout for winnings over $1199.

There is no W2 form for that type of bet. you could bet 100,000 and there would be no W2 form.

Yes, there is. I won $1500 at a Vegas book once and they required that a W2 form be filled out and signed.

sure you can make that type of bet... but to catch your friend in a lie inquire about the following...

the money to make the bet, did...

he carry it in a paper bag or suitcase?

or did he write a check?

credit card?

marker?

if it was cash, any questions from behind the desk? did he carry all that on the plane with him? if so why? with the forfeiture laws why risk carrying any more than $1000 on you? If a Local sheriff sees that much cash he is gonna take it assuming it's drug money.

is it possible to get down that type of action? SURE

Valium is correct.

Anything over 600-1 odds requires a sign up on a W-2G.
