What do you guys like tonight?

I taught a very valuable and predictable lesson last night with this thread:

I am looking to do the same tonight because Thursday Nights (where there is no late game) are very unique in the sense that the books don't always make money but they do grab the cash on misread public plays. Lets hear what ya got and about 10 minutes before 7:05pm ET, i'll be back with the PICK OF THE NIGHT, kinda like the Dodgers ML last night.

What was the lesson taught?

Just having a little fun buff but the 'Fade the public angle' on the one and only bettable sport at the 10:00pm ET hour was a winner again...has been almost all year and yesterday was a great example of the public putting too much faith into a pitcher with a shaddy past (Sosa) against a guy who has struggled in his career against the Mets (Penny) but is still one of the top pitchers in baseball.

Waiting for your vote...

I will give a shot with small play on Atlanta tonight.find nice value in the rate there and Hudson seems to do well vs Minnesota.
I know Atlanta sucks lately but with +170 and Johan Sanatana piece of shit on the other end i will take my chances here tonight.

THE PLAY: FLORIDA MARLINS ML -119

I know it's late now guys but the lesson learned here is that forget all the games with the big odds because you're either gonna get screwed by a team that has to catch a flight and wants to return home or you'll get screwed by a team that doesn't give a rats ass since they are at home for the weekend anyways. In this case, this is the closest line of the four games and much like past Thursday nights you have to go with the team that is ending a home stand and looking forward to heading on the road. When you know you're leaving for a road trip, you actually try and win your last game before leaving. The Indians are heading home after this game and home is about all thats gonna be on their minds. Sounds stupid but it has worked in Thursday nights past and the idea here is to either take the closes line or take the game where the public is divided on two sides.

On the mound for the Indians tonight is Jason Stanford who is making his first start of the year. Not the place or the time to do it because his batters have one foot on the plane and the Marlins love hitting against lefties. This is not a youngster starting, its an old 30 year old journeyman who is in for an ass whipping. His last major league start was in April of 2004 and he has not started in the bigs since. The only problem for him is that the Marlins are hitting a whopping .290 versus left handed pitchers at home and they are now 7-1 in their last eight starts versus a lefty.

On the other side of the mound Dontrelle Willis gets the call and thats perfect because the Indians suck ass against lefties hitting only .259 against them this year and they are 1-4 in their last five games versus a left handed pitcher in inter-league games. The Indians are a team that relies on heavy hitting and thats tough to do in NL ballparks because they dont get to use their normal amount of AB's from natural hitters.

Finally, the Marlins have been one of the most profitable teams in interleague play when favored to win as they have won 8 of their last 10 in that spot.

Cleveland will pound Willis. They are one of the best lefty hitting clubs in the majors. Now if you wanted to say that they are starting a scrub pitcher in the majors on the road where he has to worry about hitting much less pitching and HAFNER is sitting, I may go with ya.

My call... HAfner comes off the bench and wins this one with the wood

Wack! And this is a lesson. I am with BuffetGambler.

The closest outcome of voting was on this game. It also fits into the category of having the best betting lines on both sides. This being a Thursday and tonight being a travel night for these guys, some teams react differently to different situations. Yesterday was a fade the public on a loner night game, tonight is a Thursday Night Travel betting lesson.

Class is in session...no more noise please!
