Some random thoughts to recap the nba playoffs series by series and things teams need to address etc.
Detroit-orlando
Dwight Howard needs to develop some passing skills and some post moves. They also need some slashers. When Grant Hill is your best slasher you are in trouble. Howard needs to watch films of Duncan handling the double. Gorilla ball works in regular season for him but not in playoffs. Just a complete and utterly forgetable series.
Chicago-Miami
Sucks that Wade was dinged. Took a lot of the luster out of the eastern conference playoffs. The Heat generally looked very slow. The Bulls matched up perfectly with them. Ben Gordon and Deng showed signs of blossoming into VERY good players. Heat needs to bring in a little athletesicm. They are getting too slow on the perimter and Shaq not quick enough to erase their mistakes in the paint any longer.
Toronto-NJ
Sam Mitchell did a rotten job coaching in this series. Granted Bargnani was not quite 100 percent coming off the injury, he needed to play more or they needed to go small. NJ had no post men that could not be guarded with a small lineup, yet he kept playing the stiff ass Nesterovic and humphries, which just turned everything into a clusterfuck, making it easy to double bosh, rendering him useless. In their defense they missed a healthy bargnanni and also lets not forget how effective Garbosa would have been for them also. They were not playing with their normal team but that is no excuse for Mitchell's rotten coaching. He may have won coach of the year but did a rotten job in this series. He finally caught on to the right thing by accident in the last game and they almost stole the game 6 in NJ. Toronto also needs to get a slasher. They are too perimiter or post. Bosh the only guy that can get to the hoop and finish. Joey Graham not going to cut it at the small forward. When you are playing him and nesterovic you are playing three on five.
Kidd was sensational in this series, as was Jefferson. They did a pretty good job making life tough on Vince, but they just didn't have enough firepower with that crappy lineup.
Cleveland-Washington
Just a debacle of a series. Complete mismatch without agent zero and butler. Was a really awesome series to watch last year and this year was the most unwatchable series ever. Washington is a big man away from contending in the east and they need a new coach also. He is not the answer.
