When your Hdcp is around 15, go TRY a few drivers (loaners for the day)

i work at a golf store and would strongly recommend the cleveland hibore xl, easy to hit and real forgiving for an average handicapper. another great club we have is the tour edge exotics, kinda pricey but unbelieveable and most people havent even heard of it. i think nike sucks in general and wouldn't recommend one of them. another top seller is the taylor made burner. its an inch longer than normal drivers to get some more distance on the ball and has the bigger moi you can have. its like the square drivers but not square, very good and easy to hit. the burner and hibore are our top sellers this year so far but i think the exotics might be the best unknown driver on the market. gl and ask questions if you got any be happy to help

All the major brand large headed(460cc) drivers are about the same. The mistake most beginners make is they don't get enough loft(10.5 degrees or higher) and they use a shaft that is too stiff. Go to a golf store(like Golf Galaxy) and try out some different models that look and feel good to you. They will have plenty of used drivers that will fit you just fine and will cost around $150. Spend the money you save on a couple of lessons. Good Luck

I agree, get the biggest head driver you can find. And get at least 10.5 degree of loft. For myself, I've found that I get a lot less of the dreaded side spin with the higher lofted drivers. And whatever you do get the right flex shaft. Even if you have a clubhead the size of a broom, your going to hit it in the trees about everytime if you don't have the proper flex of shaft for your swing speed. And If you haven't already done it, get your swing speed tested before you go out and buy anything.

Keep the driver in the bag. You will lose less balls and be more consistent.

Concentrate on your short game and dont worry about hitting long...

chip and putt chip and putt...

First thing you need to do is get lessons.

golf can be very expensive. buy clubs at the local goodwill store for a buck or two. if you see you really want to take the game up, proceed from there to nicer tools.

Taylor Made makes excellent drivers. Very forgiving and great for amateur golfers. I have a R5 Type D in my bag.
Just don't try to kill it, you'd be surprised at how much more distance you get if you slow down your swing and make good contact.

There is not any way for some one to tell you the best driver out there for you. It all depends on your swing....Do not buy a driver or any club blindly..Go hit it at a pro-shop or golf center. I have a barrel full of clubs that you can have, that I was told I needed to buy.

If youre just beginning why go for broke.Buy some preowned clubs (but definitely include an oversized driver). Its easy to figure out what quality and whats not and the market is flooded w/ deals on good clubs.Lots of them hardly used because folks just started to play and got fed up with it.

With that being said my Cobra Comp is pure joy to hit and as big as a small child.

Been pretty partial to Taylor Made for the past 5 years...you can have the most expensive equipement in the world, but it won't do anygood with a bad swing plane and bad putting techniques...take a few lessons...
