I was looking into today's pitcher's duel between Young and Zambrano, and I was curious what David Wells meant by this quote. He was angry about the fact that two Cubs fans interfered with the game at two crucial points, preventing a home run and causing a double to happen.

"11 years later, Wells is still ticked that fan Jeffrey Maier, then 12, got away with deflecting Derek Jeter's drive at Yankee Stadium in the 1996 playoffs, a result that was wrongly ruled a home run. Wells was on the Orioles club that suffered for it. 'He cost me some dough,' Wells said."

Is he referring to sponsors and promotions, or is he referring to our little habit?

Why was he angry about yesterday's interferences? They both helped him and his team (though not enough obviously).

And yeah, he's not talking about gambling, they get playoff money.
