Cubs Swagger is starting to kick in... this team has totally changed ever since the Lou tirade and the Barrett/Zambrano incident. This team is finally showing life and Derek Lee of all people throwing a punch in a brawl? I never thought id see that! Now Lets see who Zambrano throws at! Stay tuned and the game is on WGN FYI
First of all...
Derek Lee is a moron for throwing a punch because the team is on fire and now he is going to be suspended for 5 games... So that doesn't seem to smart...
Also what does Lou acting like a moron have to do with the team playing better? Or Zambrano and Barrett acting like Morons have to do with the team playing better?
It doesn't neither of them do. The team is just talented and now playing better baseball... It has nothing to do with Lou being a moron or two teammates fighting each other like idiots...
Sometimes in the heat of battle your emotions get to you before you think about what your actually doing. Thats why I was shocked when Lee of all people went after young. But the pitch was very high near his neck and got hit near the wrist where he was injured almost all of last season. I think Lee had every right to be pisses especially when Peavy was saying after yesterdays game that he didnt appreciate Soriano watching his hr and that someone would get hit after that. And yes the Barrett/Zambrano and Lou tirade have definitely gave the team a spark.

The Barrett thing was a huge negative not a positive... Barrett will be out of Chicago by years end because he is hated. And Lou's tirade did nothing man. What these millionaires are like wow look at our manager making a fool out of himself. We aren't playing hard enough better start trying or he could do it to us... haha... You can't get a spark from your team beating eachother up... A Brawl or an action by another team could get you going but not within your own organization.
We will have to agree to disagree then... I know where you are coming from as fights within the team can work both ways both good and bad. Obviously Barrett and Z were frustrated that day and the way the season was going up too that point. Z wasnt pitching good and Barrett was playing bad behind the plate and you saw what happened. Everyone thought Barrett was pointing to the scoreboard but he was actually pointing towards the field where Derosa was standing and Barrett was saying "ask him what i put down" bc they got crossed up on the passed ball and the 2b derosa was looking in for what pitch was going to be thrown and location. Anything that shows some signs of life and actually caring about their performance on the field was a positive if you ask me. They have won 9 of 13 now and have been playing much better. Also Zambrano has pitched 23 innings since then and has given up 2 earned runs total. As for the Lou tirade he was just looking to get kicked out everyone could see it coming, he looked like an idiot but sometimes thats all you need to do to change things around
