this kid is 2-7 with an era of 3.15
not sure where his era ranks league-wise, but it goes without saying that 3.15 era is damn good in modern baseball.

he has allowed 3 or less runs in TEN of his THIRTEEN starts.
but his run support has been horrid.
only three of his starts have seen 9 or more runs scored.

just something to toss around and consider next time he takes the mound.
this kid is damn good. getting flying under the radar because of horrid run support.

actually todays 1-0 screwjob for cain takes those numbers to 3 runs or less in 11 of 14 starts. wow. taking the L today has to be tough.

granted Dice-K is a good pitcher
you still have to expect and almost demand that your team offensively pick you up. a major league team not scoring any runs through a 9 inning game is pretty pathetic.
its not like they are going against nolan ryan

at least cain can sleep easy knowing he did his job, and in a hell of a nice fashion

that bonds at bat in the 8th (?) was the big one. he has to make something happen there
