I just came home from a trip at this joint and oh my god has this place turned into a piece of shit for gamblers. Had a great time at the facility, shopping with my wife, hanging out in the clubs but damn the gambling is terrible.

Except for the main pit (which has 10 tables for BJ of which one is reserved for some high roller 24/7) the rules on the outside tables are as follows

BJ 6:5
Only double down 10 or 11 (nothing else ever)
Dealer hits on soft 17

With these rules they have basically made it impossible to win.

I have been staying at this place for years and usually play a few hundred a hand so the rules don't kill me but what if you want to play at a smaller table with your wife who may be a bit more casual player? If you play for less than $100 per hand you are going to be stuck wth these shit rules.

Also could not get action on a baseball game for more than $1,000 per game.

Where or where has Vegas gone?

Time to find a new host and casino for my action.

Hapy fathers day to all the Dad's at the Rx.

Welcome to the new, corporate Las Vegas

(FWIW, I dropped a dime on a world cup soccer game at the IP, and they didn't blink an eye)

Not only is it 6-5 blackjack, but after 6pm-it's pretty much $100 minimum & you can't find an open seat(at least on a weekend)!

TTinCO, I have never seen it spelled that way. Some of my most profitable trips have been when I couldn't find a seat. Good Luck

Yeah, it's actually Caesars(that spelling throws a lot of people for a loop).

welcome to Harrah's corp

True, but in fairness to them, they throw out some serious perks. I just booked the Flamingo July 4-8th....not only comped, but they cough up $400 to cover travel expenses.

Harrah's sucks, and it's a shame our Gov't allowed all these mergers so that one group could obtain all these casinos. What ever happened to competition?

I go 3-4 times per year. Usually once a 1/4. I just came back from my most recent trip this week.

Hey its Harrahs they bought out all of those casinos near Caesars. Flamingo,Paris,Osheas, etc etc... I usually always stay at Harrahs,Flamingo,or Caesars but those blackjack rules have really turned me away from wanting to play there... but the GIRLS at Caesars OMG... has anyone been inside that Pure Nightclub? The Girls in there are all 9's and 10's

Palms has the best sportsbook. Vegas really sucks as far as gambling. Many people mistakenly believe they have casinos in Las Vegas, they do not anymore

what do you mean? What is the difference between a "Casino" and say Harrahs or Flamingo? I know the obvious part that its a hotel and vacation spot... but its still got the casino inside

casinos take bets, Harrahs especially but really all of Vegas now just wants morons who funnel money into their slots and drop $500 minimum in some "ultra lounge" each night, dont know shit about what a comp is and just want to be in Vegas to act like morons all weekend

"casinos" dont see their slots as gambling. its all they really are interested in booking.

want to bet $5,000 on a hand of blackjack? fuck you

want to bet $5000 on a game? fuck you and get out

the attitude of the knumnuts running the Vegas "casinos" :)missingte ) is this:

why should we take a chance booking things like large sportsbets which we could lose when we can just sit back and let idiots pour money into our slot machines and play 6-5 crapjack?

never mind that almost nobody wins at sports and you gotta lay -110. they are too fucking dumb to figure that out and really dont want to take any chance. they just want sure things.

that isnt a casino. the original post here about what has happened to Caesars sums it up pretty well

Caesars had good VP till Harrahs took over.
Vegas isn't about gambling anymore.
They are trying to become one giant nightclub that happenes to have some carnival style gambling.

There was an article in the LA Times that said people are paying $300 for a bottle of Bacardi and $400 for a bottle of Jager for poolside drink service.
And you wonder why 6/5 BJ continues to flourish :ohno:

Whats even funnier is these guys actually act like they are booking large action.

Most of these clowns wouldnt even know a bad # if they didnt have the daily sheet laying on the counter.

Betting sports in Las Vegas is a waste of time.

Dobermans shop IP used to offer some unique stuff, but Im sure with Harrahs involved now, those lines have disappeared.

Pathetic.
