<!-- / message -->WHEN 2-0 LAST NIGHT!!
The Royals and Marlins wrap up their interleague series today at Kauffman Stadium. The two teams should be worn out after last nights wild 9-8 victory Florida. Despite Saturday's setback, Kansas City has done well against the National League posting an 7-4 record and winning three series. A victory today would give them yet another series win. Brian Bannister goes for the Royals today and is coming off an impressive outing against the Cardinals where he threw seven innings of shutout ball. One of the best pitchers in baseball in recent weeks, Bannister has worked at least seven innings in each of his last four starts. In his last three outings, he has allowed just one earned run in 22 innings. Bannister has been terrific at home (3.52) This will be his first start against the Marlins. The Fish will counter with lefty Scott Olsen who enjoyed his finest performance of the season in his previous start, beating the Indians while tossing seven shutout innings. The lefty struck out six and didn't walk a batter for the first time all year and the fourth time of his career. In five Interleague games, Olsen is 3-1 with a 1.36 ERA (five earned runs in 33 innings). Runs figure to be at a premium (unlike last night). Take Bannister and the Royals at home in this spot.
