Yovani Gallardo is a stud I've been waiting for to get called up. His minor league stats have been tremendous boasting a 2.9 ERA, 110 k's in 77 innings and only 28 BB. He has electric stuff and the fact that no major league player has faced him before gives him an added advantage. The giants have been struggling all year. The old timer giants have provided no consistent offense and noah lowry has been far less effective on the road this year. The Brewers have also touched him up pretty good in the two previous times theyve faced Lowry. Brewers have found their bats again. While prince has been a constant all year long, bill hall, ryan braun, corey hart are starting to find their grooves and the offense has produced lately. I think its a good matchup and have the feeling the brewers are on the brink of another big run with gallardo helping stabilize their rotation.

unfortunately against you on your 2 unit play...like the Brewers pick, staying away only b/c I think they'll limit the kid to 6 innings max, and we all know how that middle relief has performed for the Brew Crew. We're on the Nats over as well...GL
Did you read about the 6 inning thing? They usually only do that for guys coming off injury. Im thinking the 100 pitch count like most starters. Matt Wise and Villanueva should be available tomorrow to go the 7th. Both have been pretty effective. And while Turnbow went through a rough skid I still have alot of confidence in the guy in the setup role.

gallardo will get rocked like incecum. as good as they are... they need to learn how to pitch in the big leagues, and that doesn't come overnight. a couple of rough outings will do the trick.

that doesnt explain liriano, hamels, chuck james, gorzelanny, weaver, i could keep going. lincecum got the most attention of all the rookies in a long long while and now people are holding that as the standard for opening day performance.

And the phillies offense isnt even comparable to the giants. Gallardo could very well get rocked but I wouldnt base that off of Lincecum struggling.
