3rd or 4th place looks about right, unless he really stays in the game beyond 40..

He seems to have that desire and love of the game.

Pete Rose thru his year age 33 season had 2,337 hits.

Jeter will be right there and probably slightly ahead of the mark Rose was after his age 33 season. (2,242 currently)

3600-3800 , and an outside shot at 4000 ... However I personally don't see Jeter playing past 40.

Rose's mark (4256)...the record no one ever mentions..yet to me one of the most difficult (if not impossible) to reach. Jeter will end up with 3700 if he stays healthy..and he will be 40 years old when he hits this mark (7 more seasons at 210 hits a year...1470 more hits)

Not to mention, he has been healthy is whole career. Barring injury, he could easily play into his 40s.

Jeter is first ballot to me. He has racked up some incredible numbers while being the pride of the Yanks for some time now, and that is a tough burden to carry.

You cant take a guy who has been the face of the Yanks for that long and then deny him the hall, that would be a travesty.

Remember when the girl ran out onto the field and passed him a note? haha. Or how about when he smashed his face into the seats making that catch at fenway. Jeets is a player. I respect him, even if he is our enemy.

I say he winds up lower to mid 3000, given his age.

I don't think DJ will play over 40 and see him getting right around 3,500 barring any major injuries.

He will be 1st ballot HOF.

Jeter HOF?

Absolute 1st ballot lock!

If he didn't play in NYC and say KC. No! The market has much to do with his fame. He is a great player. Alomar at his peak was better. Also, DJ does play and has always played with a stacked deck.

As much as I hate ARod you can't even compare them, but look how DJ is treated how Arod treated. Talk about people loving the guy who hustles and plays hard. Arod does the same, but he is the Rodney dangerfield of pro sports. The guy has his 26 bombs in about 4 weeks of hot play! That is crazy. Everyone including myself jumps on Arod when he makes a mistake, but if it Jeter, "well, that happens"

I like Jeter's inbetween swing batting routine. The way he twirls around on one foot with that little hop.

If you compare Jeter and Alomar's stats, DJ has him beat in almost every major category. Alomar never even got 200 hits in a season.

I would compare DJ to Paul Molitor.
