That is just typical Raj. Insults, wisecracks and similar stuff come from him on a daily basis.

He's not in serious condition.
Broke a bone in his arm.
He got 2 tickets as well, one of them was for not having a license to drive a motorcycle.

Him leaving was one of the best things to ever happen to the Skins...thank goodness he forfeited $ to leave.

I give the Giants credit for realizing he's a bum only one year into his contract. Wish the Skins were that smart. Although the Giants did get to see him play for years before signing him, so maybe that makes them just as stupid, if not stupider than Washington.

He's a horrible, horrible football player. And the fact that he and Chris Samuels have made more than one Pro Bowl each is a perfect example of why that game is such a collosal joke.

LANHAM, Md. -- Former Pro Bowl linebacker LaVar Arrington was hospitalized Monday with serious but not life-threatening injuries after his motorcycle crashed on a highway ramp.

Arrington lost control and hit a guardrail, Maryland State Police Sgt. Russell Newell said. He said police did not know how fast Arrington was traveling.
Arrington, who turns 29 Wednesday, was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not involved in the accident, Newell said. Arrington was issued two citations -- one for operating the motorcycle without a proper license and the other for the crash itself.

Arrington's attorney, Rosalyn Pugh, said the former Redskins and Giants player had "a few broken bones, which you might expect from a motorcycle accident." She said he had not had surgery.

Pugh said Arrington was expected to remain at Prince George's Hospital Center overnight and his condition would be reevaluated in the morning. Arrington's mother, father and wife were at his bedside, she said.

"I've spoken with his wife and she says he's in good spirits," Pugh said.

Washington drafted Arrington No. 2 overall in 2000, and he made three Pro Bowl appearances while with the Redskins. Arrington bought out his contract after the 2005 season.

Redskins coach Joe Gibbs issued a statement wishing Arrington "a full and speedy recovery."

Arrington then joined the Giants but tore his Achilles' tendon in October and played only six games last season. New York released him in February as part of a salary cap purge under new general manager Jerry Reese, leaving Arrington to rehabilitate his injury while looking for another team.

While with the Redskins, Arrington became the team's most popular player and signed an eight-year, $68 million contract extension near the end of the 2003 season.

But Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs returned to the team with a new coaching staff in 2004, and Arrington's relationship with Washington began to sour. He hurt his knee early in the 2004 season and played in only four games.

In April 2005, after a second knee operation, Arrington criticized team officials for failing to support him during his injury. He also became involved in a dispute with Redskins owner Dan Snyder over a $6.5 million bonus Arrington said was missing from the final version of his contract.

The contract dispute was eventually settled, but Arrington then had a hard time getting on the field. He was used sparingly in the first six games of 2005 and didn't play at all in a loss against Denver. There was a sense that Arrington didn't fit well with defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' disciplined schemes.

Arrington did return to the starting lineup, yet still was not an every-down player and did not have the impact of years past. He finished 2005 without a sack.

Was absolutely amazing at PSU... best all around defensive football player i had ever seen... Not sure what really happened to the guy when he came to the pro's because he just disappeared and gained a ton of weight.

pro's are a completely different game...they can neutralize speed (unlike in college)

Lavar was no longer going against "college offensive lineman"....he was a man playing with boys in college and when he played against other men..he was exposed for what he was

i still remember though a couple short yardage stops at PSU....The Lavar Leap most notably

It's as simple as this: in college, Lavar relied on his athleticism to dominate...and he could, because he was always head and shoulders more athletic than anyone else on the field.

In the NFL, Lavar relied on his athleticism to dominate...but he COULD NOT, because he was no longer more athletic than everybody else.

That didn't stop him from trying, though, and completely ignoring his defensive assignments to make a big play or get to the passer, neither of which he could really do.

It was great when Lavar demanded to play DE so he could rush the passer, and subsequently got swallowed by lineman and couldn't do shit. Then the Redskins insert undrafted free agent LB Chris Clemons at DE to rush the passer, who does 500 X better than Lavar ever did. Then Lavar has the audacity to say that Clemons was his protege. What a fucking joke.

Thank goodness his NFL career is 99% finished.

Lavar was the prototypical Daniel Snyder signing. Maybe he should let the football guys do their job, and he go sit in the owner's skybox. Absolutely hate the Redskins (great fans though).
