True story of a small bookie, just starting out

he is a good friend of mine, we have both been playing 20 years........ at the end of college bb tourney, our main local shuts it down until pre-season nfl....... this year my friend with only ($10k) took 12 of his players, that wanted to keep playing but had no idea of the offshore world and has since turned his ($10k) into ($39k)..... i spoke with him again today and he has made ($29k) since the start of MLB season, booking 12 players on no more than ($500) bets........

he took a shot and seems to have made it.....

wow, i find that very hard to believe. i know a few books getting their asses handed to them. also why would another book let you take 12 of his players, have never, never heard of that.

I have a local also but think I would be nervous being in those guys shoes with these stupid laws we have. I guess you just have to make sure of your clientle.

who took what, the "other guy" shut down till pre season NFL, great move on your buddies part, very risky as 10 g's is easily lost with 12 players. He should keep all winnings stashed then "TAKE THE 12 PLAYERS" FOR NFL also, he stand to make a ton in NFL if those guys are losing in bases that way. I bet they are betting ALOT of FAVS.......= destruction!!!!!!:thumbsup:

its a local, not like he owns the people who bet with him..if he wont accept baseball bets, theres plenty of other locals that will

main local shuts down until pre-season....... he plays golf and poker all summer.......

my buddy took 12 players, that wanted to continue to play............. he had a 10k bankroll to start booking (very risky) but these guys have been losing like crazy.... ive seen his sheets........ one guy lost 9k in one week, now how did he do that betting a nickel max...... he lost several big favorites is one way.......

if my friend had of lost the 10k, he would have shut down also...... first time he ever did this, normally he is just a player....... he is pretty tight with the big local and the 12 players will probably be gone once football begins but he has been sticking it to them over the summer......

he hasnt been ripped yet and is already up ($29k) and has it in a lock box, he is paying cash for everything these days as well......

I know a few locals and they all said they wish they had alot of baseball players because most will them will lose for sure. They said its easy money for them in the summer.

just curious, if u were going to start taking bets, how much money and how many players would u accept? Would u do this entirely by yourself, or be in joint with somebody else? Just curious is all....

most locals dont want to sit around all day and awnser phones...figure they are doing it 3-4 days a week in sept/october..then in november it is everyday due to nba starting and ending in june..most locals want a break and do not have enough clients to make it worth there wild....but there are some locals who use online sites to book there plays or have a crew of guys who awnser the phones for them. i just dont see really enough players to keep action enticing to most locals. i know my local is set up online to take all the action with a phone service.....i have him for a high five figure number since baseball has started.

Its been a long time that i have since i have posted i look at this site every day 4 info. but anyways this is a great topic I have been betting 4 about 11 years. I have had my ups and downs like everone. I have a local that i have been with about 3 years. about a year ago he ask me if i want 2 help him take bets. And beleve me its the best thing I have ever done. When ever you hear that a booke is getting his ass kicked thats bull shit !!! We alwas make $$$$$ !!! ALL that means that some pepole r not paying money that thay owe!! We have about 80 players and maby 5 players still playing the main reson locals dont take BaseBall is because not that many pepole play.. Everone plays football and C basketball .. Ther is allways money 2 be made. In sports betting... my advice is try it dont give pepole 2 high of a ballence no more than a grand. . and no more than 500 a game collect once a week and allways pay on TIME EVERY TIME!!! And only pepole u trust no one shady!!! GOODLUCK trust me we always make money !!!!

most of the 12 started out playing smaller (as most do), now several of the guys are firing at him......... believe it or not, one of his players is a doctor.......

the person above that said, most people dont play baseball, is absolutely spot on with this...... i started playing with the big local in 1986 and i was number #165........

the main reason that he was able to do this was,,,,,,,, the bigger local sort of vouched for both sides.......

they beat him out of 2 dimes last night, he told me that this morning.....
