Watched it a few times, the one night I watched the guy fell overboard, never found him. Alot of risks but they seem to for that kind of reward.

Love that show! Ice Truckers just started the other day, and is a similarly-themed show...check it out.

I missed that show...terrible. Did they show footage much of him falling over the side?

That show totally owns. Robfunk, your resident greenhorn here.

Journey, I went and bought 2.5 pounds of king crab as we had discussed. It came out to 42$

I said to the guy (it was a local seafood shop, damn everything was so beautiful. They had scallops at 50$ a pound) I wanted to try it, because I have been watching so much 'Deadliest Catch'. We all just talked about the show non stop after that. While he bagged and weighed my crab. Kinda funny.

FWIW, I put the king crab above lobster ;) The flavor and the way it absorbs butter and lemon is rediculous.

ICE ROAD TRUCKERS charts two months in the lives of six extraordinary men who haul vital supplies to diamond mines over frozen lakes that double as roads. The livelihood of many depends on these tenuous roads, which through the years have been responsible for the deaths of dozens of men.

Each year, the many lakes of this region completely freeze over and engineers build an ice road over them that can withstand the weight of tractor trailers, hopefully. Jackknifing, breakdowns and accidents are commonplace

haha i was thinking the exact same thing....we could have little webcams at our desks and in our living rooms...would be hilarious, not sure if we have a big enough market.

Watch bets go in, watch tough beats- guy breaking remotes, guys getting pissed off, watching guys withdrawl money and going to WU.

So much material!

They are driving over bodies of water in the Artic circle that are only frozen over in winter. Lots of white-outs where they can't see shit, the constant threat of the ice breaking, trucks crashing into snowbanks in -30 weather, etc.

Similar concept to Deadliest Catch I guess; high risk, high reward. They follow the vets and the new guys.

There was also a similar show or special I saw recently where people were working on oil rigs.

Sounds good Rob...I would rank the crab legs about the same as lobster...not much tastier in all of the world in my opinion.

Yeah, lobster claw and tail kind of tough to beat. Doesnt fall apart like crab either.

You gotta know just where to crack that claw son....crack it just right and you never have it break

Take a butter knife and put it right over top the pointiest nob on the corner, on the base of the claw, the part that moves, and then it's just a matter of knowing just how hard to hit the knife, the rest is all meat.

Crab legs are a little different because the legs and claw tend to bend somewhat...the Ches Bay crab claws are easier...not as much meat though.

I'm hungry now.

Journey, youre so right.

I cracked like 5 legs, I got a solid chunk of crab about twice maybe. Everything else just broke up.

Like I said, I'm a GREENHORN. ;)

They make crab leg/claw crackers for those snow crabs...well worth getting a pair...those Alaskan King Crabs especially (as opposed to the snow crabs with the smooth legs) have the pointiest legs and tear your hands up.

Just back from the seafood shop. Bought a slab of cod for 9 bucks.

As I was leaving the store ripped off a piece and ate it. If I'm dead tommorow you will know why.

Wasnt that great really, but I could tell it was a healthy piece of meat caught from the atlantic.

Went to a memorial near Seattle a few years back that was a dedication to all fishermen that have lost their lives over the past century (distant relative died roughly 10 years ago in a boat accident). What people don't know are there are many fisherman that left to go up there for work but never came back, friends and family just assumed they were lost at sea. Talk about a a true gamblers job. Is the risk worth the reward? Not in my book...
