If Barry went on to be a home run short of the record and then got hurt this year.

Than the Giants got into the pennant race and were tied or a game behind going into to the final weekend but they had to go into a place that hated him(New York,LA)

Do you think he would play to help his team and break the record that way or sit it out nursing his 95% recovered hammy and wait till next season?

Not sure on this one. I know he wants the ring but if they barely making the playoffs, he kind of hurt, and he is going to be pummeled with N bombs and death threats he may just sit it out.

Of course he would play, dont even be rediculous. What would he have to lose?

Barry comes across as selfish, but I am sure he wants nothing more than to win in the playoffs.

Thanks. I hope they keep it going.

Explain it to me then. Would he sacrafice himself for the team vs. being 100% healthy for the following year to break the all time HR record? Thats the way I got it.

So we agree with the fact he wants the record bad. So my thought is he would wait till the next year so he can have the circus grow larger, do it at Pac Bell, and make it the only thing anyone cares about instead of the upcoming playoffs.

Im probably wrong but what the hell.

sit so he can guarantee himself another $15mm next year from the Giants. I'm not sure I believe that, but I would like to think that he is such a self absorbed fuck head that he would do something like that.
