That was a bomb. I think Crunch99 probably just killed himself not being able to make a Gay-Rod post

I'm so sick of turning on the TV and seeing him along with the Yankees every Saturday afternoon/Sunday night/Monday night/Wendsday night/everday. I'm sure ESPN will now do a special hour long show discussing and replaying this legendary homerun off Brad Hennessey. Ugh.

I hear what you are saying, and I'm a Yankee Fan.

Two things to consider:

1- I know I'm stating the obvious here but the networks put the Yanks on because of the ratings they bring.

2- Which of these gems would you have rather watched today?

KC vs Mil
Cleve vs Wash
Houston vs Texas or
Minn vs Fla

Well when you have a payroll that is so far below those teams you would have a hard time affording marketable players too...but MLB allows this farce to continue....what a joke.

The NFL blows MLB away in managing its product.

When the Royals had Brett, McRae, Wilson and co vs Mil with Yount, Molitor and Thomas , that would have been much more interesting....20 years ago teams could afford to keep their players not watch them all go to NY and a handful of other teams.

Let's put on Griffey's return series against Seattle on. How about the surging Oakland A's vs the Mets? I would LOVE to see more Mets games, as they are the better team in New York anyway. I just can't stand the Yankees/Red Sox propaganda that the major networks foam at the mouth over, it's just pure disgusting hype.

Yeah they don't respect or care about their players in the NFL and the league is full of Thugs...

Good players get tossed out and around no contracts are guaranteed and players careers can end with no compensation in a second...

And they have thugs walking around and getting arrested everyday...

Sorry but they don't manage their product better at all....

Call me racist I really don't care, but do you think the fact that there are MANY more African Americans in the NFL contributes to what you are talking about. Because that is sure as hell the case in the NBA.

I don't think that is nearly as bad as how they treat their players in general...

The contracts are the most unfair thing I have ever seen...

The players association in the NFL is a joke and the one in the MLB has too much power.... but at least the ones in the MLB get paid while the guys in the NFL have serious health issues and problems and may never get paid...

Their is something wrong with a league where if you get hurt they can just stop paying you.

True enough...lets not forget that during the last Collective Bargaining Agreement the vote was 29-1 for the current contract. The Yankees were the only team that voted against it.

MLB set the rules and the Yanks are playing within it.

Couldnt agree more with your NFL comparison

I think if Arod opts out of his contract we know one place he might show up. He is absolutely on fire in this series
