Have a buddy who works in a small shop and talked to me tonite about printing these this football season.

I know there has been a thread or two about these in the past that I recall but cannot find.

Anyone do this or know anyone that has? Not sure it would be worth it unless you have X amount of cards handed in a week.

Crosses the line, to actually being a bookie, instead of a bettor.

I'd leave it alone, personally !

I know you get the cash up front...but you're still booking.

Here's a tip on how to do the totals like they did in the old days.

Ones I've seen are -2 each way on pick em's. Ties lose, so most numbers are 2,3,6,7,10 and don't run games that are higher on pros. Colleges run nothing that is higher than 17. Iceman, make sure you put all the Michigan schools on there. You will get EMU, CMU, and WMU action too. Colleges, make sure you run the totals for TV games, espically ND games

Damn Doug, mightly late on a Saturday for you to be making sense, but you're dead on. In the eyes of the law, you're a bookie-period.

Make sure you use this:

http://thoftware.com/parlayit/

The danger usually comes from the printer in that they can turn you in (if they lose, ha ha). The danger comes in that everything is printed, so evidence is pretty easy to get against you.

Use a network of agents that turn the cards and the money into you. Pay them 25% of what they earn for you. Maybe a sports bartender.

Liquor stores and convenience stores are great places to have cards and also youth football coaches as they can give them to the dad's at practice.

A couple of college kids-- colleges are going to be fertile places this year with the limited access to online sportsbooks.

I made a bunch of money one year doing these cards and I think the market is ripe to do it again. What I like is that the 10 dollar and 20 dollar player will play cards.

I just don't know if I have the guts to do it.

Like someone mention take the hook off of every game and total and have the famous 2 words Tie Loses this way if it falls on the number you kill both sides of the parlay a win win situation.

You don't even need to do the -2 on a pickem game or ties lose or the over 37 and under 36 because you are going to kill people anyway because they are playing parlays. You have the best of it by a long way--you have cash up front, they have to win multiple games.

I just think if you blatantly rip people off, there will be less action and more interest in stopping you by turning your operation into the cops.

Anyone ever heard of a parlay card bust? I have not...it would seem like a very light slap on the wrist at worst. a lot of nickle dimers playing them.

If you are not a major bookie, and have wives/paycheck collection issues, go for it. If you are a bookie, the cards will just make it easier for the heat to bust you if they WANT you. Hell, if you are just trying to make a few bucks and are not a major bookie, the cops might be some of your best customers!

Its great stuff having stacks of 10's and 20's on your desk and putting the winners envelopes together on Monday's.

It happens in Detroit area JMan. With all the big auto plants we have out here. Remember that name Martin that had the fad 5 in his pocket. He worked at ford and ran the cards in the plants.

correct....but 25% is too much for off the top

10% of gross turn in...or fade 35% of card action...settle at end of season..

put cards out on tuesdays...late afternoon or evening as ....(most of the early line moves will have settle down)

use key numbers whenever possible ...in a pickem game make home team a 3 point fav.. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, USE HALF POINTS dont use college games with spreads over 21...

never leave cards out in the open....ie at the end of the bar

use color-coded cards (green, blue ect) easier to track..

dont be afraid to put out pro only cards after the college foots is over....

the key is to have a large pool.....because cards will hit...(even the 10 teamers occasionally)

collect ALL cards on fridays...no call ins on saturdays (unless square long time players)
