I don't know if I am actually betting any of these games but I did break some down so I figured I would post the writeups here... There is no opinion involved here, just straight facts and numbers. I think a problem I am having is that I making up my mind before capping the game and then finding the numbers to support it so I'm going to try switching things up a little maybe.

2:05pm....Cubs +101 / White Sox -111.....O 8.5 -125 / U 8.5 +105:

Cubs have taken the first two games of the series and have won 4/5 in the series this yr. Cubs are 12-10 in June, WS are 5-16 in the month and losers of 4 straight. Cubs are 19-19 on the road, WS are 16-20 at home.

Overall OBP of .340 on the yr.

Other SP notes on Contreras:"It hasn't hurt that he has an average of 6.47 runs of support on those starts. But what the Sox are more focused on is his 5-7 record this season. The right-hander admitted after his latest win that he has been having trouble commanding his fastball, and his velocity is down a bit. He maintained that he is healthy, but wants to change his workout to focus less on upper-body work and more in his legs to try and get more push. " - sportsline.com

Hamels Last start = L, 5ip, 8h, 6er, 0bb, 4k @ Clev

Other News on Wells: "The St. Louis Cardinals sent struggling Kip Wells to the bullpen to give him time to clear his head. But they were out of arms, and the right-hander responded with two scoreless innings in a 7-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night. "You don't really want to use him in that kind of a game unless you have to, and we had to," pitching coach Dave Duncan said. "He responded and gave us two great innings....Wells, who has the most losses in the major leagues, was scratched from his start on Tuesday only three hours before the game. "You're sitting down there most of the game knowing you're probably not going to get in unless this kind of situation transpires," Wells said. "To have a good result is a pretty good feeling." - sportsline.com

Hamels gave up 5er to Houston and than gave up 1er in the next start to Cinci, he gave up 5er to Florida and than gave up 3er the next start to ATL. It will be interesting to see how he responds after giving up 6runs to the Indians, a season high, last start. Cards are 5-5 in their last 10 games vs. LHP. Phillies are 6-4 in their last 10 games vs. RHP. Wells success vs. the Phillies is something to pay attention to as well.

1:10pm....A's +135 / Mets -145....O/U 8.5 -110:

Mets lead the series 2-0 after pulling Saturdays game out in the 9th inning. The Mets are just 3-8 in their L11 as favorites. Mets are 20-18 at home and the A's are 18-16 on the road. A's are 6-3 in their last 9 IL road games. A's are 13-8 in the month of June and the Mets are 6-15 in June.

Kennedy L3: 1-0, 4.76era, 17ip, 20h, 9k, 8bb, 1.65whip, .368obp
Kennedy Road: 1-3, 4.54era, 33.2ip, 30h, 15k, 17bb, 1.40whip, .343obp
Overall OBP is .343 on the yr w/ a whip of 1.42

Maine L3: 1-1, 3.20era, 19.2ip, 17h, 8k, 4bb, 3hr, 1.07whip, .266obp
Maine Home: 2-3, 3.38era, 42.2ip, 42h, 30k, 16bb, 1.36whip, .320obp
Overall OBP is .305 on the yr w/ a whip of 1.24

Other SP Notes: Maine last 3 home starts = 1-1, 20.1ip, 15h, 5er, 13k, 2bb

A's vs. RHP: .253overall, .268away, .285 L10
Mets vs. LHP: .302overall, .293home, .235 L10

A's Bullpen: 4.55overall, 4.91 L3
Mets Bullpen: 3.76overall, 4.63 L3

Other notes: Mets will be going for the sweep at home but have come upon hard times in June. Mets hit LHP at .302 on the yr overall but are just 2-8 in their L10 vs. LHP. Mets have not swept a team since the Florida Marlins on 5/25-5/27 and they have not swept at home this yr. A's have not been swept once this yr and have lost 3 games in a row twice this yr (4/25-4/27 vs.Sea and TB) and (5/20-5/22 vs. SF and CHW), those numbers surprised me a lot. A's are 5-5 vs. RHP in their L10 games.

1:05pm...Rockies +105 / Jays -115....O 10.5 +100 / U 10.5 -120:

Blue Jays have won the first two games and both teams have combined for a lot of runs. Rockies are 17-18 away and 13-7 in June. Blue Jays are 23-18 at home and 11-9 in June.

Fogg L3: 1-1 (3-0), 4.76era, 17ip, 22h, 11k, 3bb, .333obp, 1.47whip.
Fogg Road: 2-2, 3.89era, 39.1ip, 44h, 25k, 16bb, 6hr, .356obp, 1.53whip.
**Fogg has given up 8hr total, 6 on the road. Rockies are 6-6 when he pitches.

McGowan L3: 1-1 (1-2), 6.14era, 14.2ip, 19h, 12k, 6bb, .373obp, 1.70whip.
McGowan Home: 2-1, 6.14era, 22ip, 26h, 20k, 7bb, .337obp, 1.50whip.

Rockies vs. RHP: .272overall, .259away, .325 L10
Jays vs. RHP: .249overall, .244home, .281 L10

Rockies Bullpen: 3.84era overall, 3.32era L3
Jays Bullpen: 2.86era overall, 6.17era L3

Umpire = Gorman and the home team is 7-8, the O/U is 9-5.

Other notes: Jays will be going for the Sweep here and the last time they did that was 5/14-5/16 at home vs. Baltimore. Rockies have not been swept this yr and have lost three straight games since 5/30-6/1..Prior to that it did not occur since 4/19-4/21... McGowan was torched last start but put together 5 straight starts of 3er or less before that. His first three starts of the yr were 5-4-5 earned runs.

Now for my opinion.. I am going to goto sleep on these picks, wakeup and decide if I still want to bet them.

Brewers -1:

They win at home, they don't lose to LHP very often, they are hot right now and capable of the sweep. Gallardo was sharp last start minus the 7th inning when he prob should of been pulled anyway. Have to play -1 here to bring it out to -131 rather than lay all that juice.

Mets -1:

This play comes out to even money and that to me is value. I don't have a problem backing Maine and although the A's have not been swept yet this yr, there is a first for everything. Maine really hasn't pitched all that bad in his last 3, just had some tough breaks and the A's are 3-10 when Kennedy throws. Mets need this game to start turning around June.

Rockies +110:

They got me today but going with the opposite logic as above, I like the Rockies to avoid the sweep here since they have been able to do that all yr. Fogg needs to keep the ball in the park, not sold on McGowan keeping the Rockie hitters under control.

Want to throw another lean out there..

Mariners -130:

Arroyo has been terrible so far, the sad part is that he beat me 2 starts ago vs. the Angels when he only gave up 3er. He has however given up 6er or more in 5 of his last 6 starts and has lost his last 6 games.

"According to The Sports Xchange notes: RHP Bronson Arroyo is taking his recent struggles seriously -- six consecutive losses -- by canceling his scheduled singing/guitar "Perfect Pitch" concert July 1. "The timing isn't good right now," he said. "My body is a little banged up, and I'm trying to help us win baseball games." - sportsline.com

Bautista is 3-4 w/ 5.72era at home and those numbers I don't like to back usually but he has pitched pretty solid over his last 3 games. His last game was at home vs Pitt (5.1ip-2er) prior to that was on 6/1 vs. Texas (6.1ip-2er) and prior to that was on 5/18 vs. SD (6.2ip-1er) so I don't feel that those number are too accurate, they are inflated due to a bad start vs. NYY and Oakland the first game of the yr.
