With the Draft being the highlight coming up in the next 3 days ... I would like to see the Pollsters chime in on this one ....

Which one of these two youngsters destined to go #1 and #2 respectively has the bigger upside in the long run ...

In 10 years Oden will look and play like a 50 year old and Durant will still be collecting MVPs

Durant for sure imo...its like asking me if I would rather have Shaq or Lebron James...

you can't judge their potentials by their college performances. But dominant big men are rare, if one has to choose between Shaq or Lebron, you have to choose Shaq if you want to give your team a better shot at the title.

Oden looks like one of those guys who is way older physically than he is chronologically; he may be close to his peak. Durant probably has way more room for improvement.

Oden. Centers do win championships. Wilt, Kareem, Russell, Olajuwon, Shaq, Duncan, I'm probably missing some. Only "great" one not to get it was Ewing, and you can blame MJ for that.

Odom will make a quicker impact, Durant more long term upside.

I think it is exactly the opposite. Oden still has work to learn to be a scorer and work on his post up game. He'll get there, but it'll take a few years. Durant has his game ready to go. Plus, there is typically a bigger learning curve for the big centers to learn how to dominate NBA games. Even Shaq who played more college years took about 3-4 years work up his PT and really learn to dominate.

My thinking is that Odom is strong enough tp make an immediate imact. Durrant may be quick, but need to work on his strength and defense. He will get posted up all day.

Durant should be the number one pick but NBA GM's are pussies afraid to make a mistake. Oh well hopefully this will Keep the Sonics in Seattle for a while.
I don't want to have to drive to Portland to catch the Raptors. I will but I don't want to have to.

Meanwhile, Durant will be posting up on other SFs all day.
