I feel this is a terrible line (+132). Guthrie has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year. I will take him at home at +odds against any pitcher. I also like Trembley's approach thus far, and feel the boys will come to play this weekend. This is enough to make my first baseball play of the year. Why not start with a homer play.

I Like Guthrie Too But

Who the hell is going to score any runs for the O`s? With Tejada gone, he was the 2nd highest RBI guy they had, and they weren`t that overpowering to begin with. Guthrie is going to have to totally shut down that NYY powerhouse 2 runs or less. Preferably a SO. He CAN do it but it won`t be a walk in the park. I may just play the total under. BOL

I agree it wont be easy, just thought it was a bad line. Thought it would be closer to a pick. I think the under is the play as well, but will stick with the O's. good luck.

I already played the O's. Guthrie has been dialed in all year, Pettitte is not even in his zip code these days. And yes Tejada is gone but it helps they are facing a lefty, O's much prefer that side. Yanks haven't been hitting that well either and playing Baltimore on the road? Not saying it's a sure thing, not even close, but I do think they win 50% of these matchups easily. That's why taking the +142 IMO is just a no-brainer. If it wasn't the Yanks no way would we get this generous of a price.

That's the worst price out there. For baseball you need a new book, they deal 20 cent lines. Hell even BoDog who also deals 20 cent lines has the O's at +135. Most places have them +140 or so. I like CRIS a lot but hard to play there for baseball. BetJM, 5Dimes and even Skybook deal 10 cent lines and a whole lot of others, it's a must if you are going to bet baseball. Anyway good luck to us tomorrow, been doing well fading the Yanks of late. Had Rockies twice at good prices, also had SF at +150 when they beat them as well. Hope it continues on to tomorrow.

Good thread discussion. I agree that Guthrie has been outstanding, but I think Pettitte has been better than what you are giving him credit for. That Rockies game wasn't as bad as it looked. He pitched 5 scoreless before giving up the 2 run homer, and after that- he admittedly fell apart. Other than that, his only other "bad" outing was when things got away from him in Boston, which can happen to the best pitchers. I agree that the Yankees, as usual, are overpriced here, but I think it will be a close low scoring game. Yankees having trouble scoring lately and Orioles lacking their biggest run producer. Gimme the under 8.5, 9 if you can find it. GL.

Good post Roux, I agree with you on almost everything. In fact I just made a play on the under as well, in the end that may turn out to be the smarter bet. We'll see, I wouldn't doubt any side can win, I just hope it's the O's. At this price I had to take a shot. Good luck with your wagers tonight.

Hey a good start to the baseball season for me. O's deserved this win and finally won a close game.

Great 1st pick win for you on the O's. I'm a MD guy so over the years I always would root for the O's even during their lousy years (wait, let me change that to "during the past 9 years"). :)

I can't wait to move to a new home so I can properly get a better cable package to see both the damned O's & Nats games on TV...

Sometimes, on my bday, I'd go by myself on a last-minute whim to go to an Orioles game. This year, I didn't think about doing it, but since my b-day was yesterday and the O's were off, I wish I was there at the game tonight! Dammit.

Anyway, maybe you should only play BAL games (whether for/against) since it's mid-summer already & you could see how you fare on only the O's games, eh?

Cheers,

VERY nice call. This just in: Scott Proctor sucks dead donkey dick. Skanks better convert Scumboy to middle relief, they're only getting five innings out of him as a starter anyway, lol... :aktion033 :puppy: :dancefool :banger:

Jeremy Guthrie = Francisco Liriano?

Even though he didn't get the win here, what a run!

Thanks for the good words guys! Cal, agree that is a great idea. Only problem is i have a hard time betting against the O's until they are basically mathematically eliminated. In my warped-homer mind i think they can win 10 straight and get back into contention. Now by no means does this mean i will bet them everyday haha.

ahhh puccini that is a very scary thought... i wont sleep well tonight
