DETROIT/TEXAS O 9.5

Don't look now but the Texas Rangers have won 6 of 7. In those 7 games they've scored 57 runs with an average of 8.14 per game. During their last five games they've hit .271 against LHP and have averaged 8.31 per game. Despite a terrible record, the Rangers are ranked #18 with an average of .260. They're #3 in the league in HR's and #3 in RBI's.

On the other hand the Tigers are the #1 hitting team in baseball with a .292 average. They're #7 in the league in homeruns and #1 in RBI's. They'll be facing Kevin Millwood who has a record of 4-6 and a 7.31 ERA. Teams are hitting .331 off of him this year. On the 6th of June the Tigs bombed him to the tune of 9 hits and 7 ER's in just 3.2 innings of work.

Kenny Rogers takes the hill tonight for the Tigers after a very good performance last week. He only gave up 2 hits in six innings of work but it's only one start.

The Tigers are #17 in baseball with a team ERA of 4.45 and Texas is 2nd to last with a 5.34 ERA.

Consider these numbers and trends:
Texas hits .278 vs. LHP and averages 5.34 runs per game
Detroits hits .286 vs. RHP and averages 6.12 runs per game

Over is 4-0-1 in Millwood's last 5 starts overall.
