I logged in the other day to my NETELLER account, just to make sure they still show my balance there. Instead, I got a message that said my account had been closed and to call to speak to their security people. Well, if anyone has tried calling, you know you get a recording that says they can't help anyone now.

After exchanging a few emails with them, I get an explanation that they believe I tried to access my account from outside the USA. That's 100% bullshit, as I've never even been outside this shithole of a country in my entire life.

I'm wondering if anyone else has came across this issue, and if they've found a successful way of rectifying it. I have a considerable balance there, and I'm wondering if this is a way for them to try to scam their way out of paying out some of the large balance accounts.

Feedback, please!!!

Rob

We have a security feature put in place to detect any activities outside your registered country, if this happens our system will automatically place your account on closed status until you contact and verify your location with us.
Please call NETELLER Contact Center Services, 24 hours a day, at

Are you trying to contact Neteller from another e-mail address? Seems like that's the problem as they would respond to your e-mail if it was SENT from your e-mail address that THEY have in your account.

Forwarding an e-mail from your old(?) e-mail account is not helpful because they will still insist that you contact them from the e-mail address on file. Have you closed that e-mail address account that they have in their system? If so, sounds like an infinite loop issue if you can't reach them via telephone.

P.S. That's why I make sure I update my Neteller account with right account information even if it's has been inactive for months now.

I have received that same email about 4 years ago or so. After calling them and assuring them that it was me, it was opened up again.

My 2nd reply to them, was in fact from the registered email address that they have on file. That's why they responded with that explanation.

Yes, it does seem very possible that I'll just keep getting the run-around with them, when they won't take calls from US callers. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to prove that I'm here in the US, when they won't talk to me!

Why don't you reply back anyway to that email below:

Reply something like this:

"Rose Jimenez, (so that the email would go directly to her & maybe would elicit another email response from her?)

I have never attempted to access my NETELLER account outside the US because I have never left the country in my entire lifetime. Your phone number does not work so please reply back here informing me how to verify my location &
reactivate my account.

Thank you,

Rob"

Try and see if that works? GL!

Thaaaaat's right, they do lock them. Why didn't they just run you through your security questions & reopen it is my question.

Why would you want to battle them right now anyway. Fight them if your money is ever going to dispersed. Why the headaches now?

TT, that's what scares me a bit. On top of the fact I can't call and explain this to a human. I have written them back and given them my home, work & mobile numbers to call me at. Whatever proof they need that I'm still in the country, I'll gladly provide.

To echo your point, all it would of took, was an email from them informing me that they're locking my account. I never got any warning. I hadn't logged in in a week or so, so who knows when they actually locked it. Wouldn't be so concerned, if it weren't for the current state of affairs with them. 4 years ago, a 5 minute phone call probably did solve the problem.

Might as well clear it up now. God knows no one will be able to get in touch with them if\when the open the floodgates to the $$$$$.

Can see where you are coming from... but think about it, once it's known that Neteller would start dispersement of funds, you can imagine their phone banks would be full & super busy with many people needing some kind of support; why not get over with this hump now (and gain access to your account again in the meantime)?

Cuz when they decide to dispurse, I don't need any more hurdles to jump over to finally get my funds.

It's possible that the staff has been told to not "do anything" with any US accounts at this point in time. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

Oh, I fully believe that they have a routing system with their phones. A call comes in from US or Canada and it automatically get that BS recording. Same with email support, I'm sure. I doubt a rep is going to jump right on my problem and rush to help me out.
